Liked this so much we plan to go back for another visit. Audio guidance around the tapestries and the work that has gone into producing these kind of story boards is amazing. Staff enthusiastic and helpful

If you are near New Ross, go and see the Ros Tapestry. This is a large scale tapestry which has bee in the making for 12 years. All wonderful voluntary work. It records the history of Ireland from the 12th to 14th century. The work is beautiful. This tourist exhibit needs support to help it to be shown to better... More

If you like either art, history, culture or craft, this beauty covers them all while telling the story of a crucial turning point in Irish history. The vibrancy of the colours and the obvious skills that must be required for this are mesmerizing. These volunteers are so talented and really are creating an original piece of art. The lady at... The Tapestries was absolutely wonderful , especially when you think the Project is being done voluntarily. The Tapestries that have been done are terrific and even though I do Tapestry my self I can,t imagine doing something like these. They are Beautiful ,it was hard to pick the one I liked the most !!

On a recent visit to Wexford we went to view the Ros Tapestry in New Ross. Ohhh, how blowed out we were!! There are 15 panels, so beautifully stitched, showing the history of the establishment of the town 800 years ago. Along with an audio piece which talks you through the panels/history. What was also so awesome to know is... More

rostapestry.com This is a set of 15 panels illustrating the Norman history in Ireland and the founding of New Ross, the crucial beginning of Ireland's complex relationship with Britain and Europe. It has been painstakingly embroidered continuously since 1998 by 150 volunteers working at home, often in the places depicted by the panels. We visited during the 2014 New Ross... More

Saw the leaflet at the hote for the Ros Tapestry at New Ross. My husband wasn't particularly interested. There are about 15 tapestries, some still to be completed. There is hand-held audio guide The needlework and detail is fantastic. We were fortunate to see 4 ladies stitching at the panels. There is no funding for this enterprise, only through visitors.... I had heard about this tapestry through a radio programme and was very interested in seeing it. The small fee paid for a a tape recorder that guided me all around the different pieces of tapestry. The vivid colours and dramatic presentations made a whole view of history come alive. What was best about the experience was that some of... More

We recently visited the Ros Tapestry and were really impressed by the incredible workmanship of the weavers/stitchers/artists all involved in it's creation. Originally from Wexford myself with roots from Bannow I wished this was available 40 years ago when our local history was been presented in a more mundane fashion! There is so much to learn in this tapestry about... More
