Absolutely a MUST see! The workmanship and significance of this exquisite project is phenomenal. Our tour group was honoured with a private tour and explanation of the work, the process and the story. I look forward to watching this project grow and grown in the years to come.

These tapestries are amazing! Our group was blown away by the workmanship, dedication to the authentic story, and sheer size of this monumental and very important work. Very talented needle workers translate the 'cartoon' drawing to linen using very carefully dyed thread to match the artist's original rendition. I would so love to visit again should the opportunity permit, and... More

The tapestries are fabulous! We had a wonderful time viewing and hearing the history behind each tapestry. The precision that goes into each tapestry is amazing. Some of these tapestries have taken 4-7 years to complete. The scene is carefully drawn and colors chosen on an artist canvas. The stitchers then sketch the scene on the linen fabric and dye... More

This is a pure treasure trove of needlework, the likes of which will not be seen anywhere else. Their caption of History in stitches is very true. The colour, workmanship, and obvious dedication of the needleworkers, is something to remember and revisit.

This work, done by over 100 volunteers over a twelve year period, has to be seen to be believed! Making our history come to life.

Check out the New Ross tapestries. On a Tuesday or Wednesday (check this), you can watch these truly magificent works of art being created. The tapestries tell the story of the Norman invasion of Ireland via this areas of South Wexford. This is a Beyeaux tapestry that is being made today in our own time. The history is fascinating too.... More

You'd hardly notice this place were it not for its location almost opposite the magnificent Dunbrody famine ship. Yet it houses one of the most amazing contemporary creations in the whole of the Nation. Its website states: 'Teams of embroiderers gather throughout the county of Wexford and nearby Kilkenny to interpret the fifteen cartoons researched in depth and painted by... More

The tapestries are beautiful and the volunteers highly skilled. Very interesting to hear the story being told in each tapestry and look at the needlework. Just makes you think of the hours, days, years (!) of effort in each.

This is a must-see terrific exhibition. It is better than other tapestry exhibitions I've seen, such as in Angers, in France. You need at least 1 hour to see the 12 tapestries already completed with 4 to go. I look forward to going back when the next one is finished, probably at christmas. Fiona, the woman in charge, is very knowledgeable... More

This is a very fine series of tapestry panels worked over a long period of time by various groups of dedicated Stitchers and depicting very vividly the history of New Ross and also incorporating much of Ireland's history in the process. While the story is vividly told the actual execution of the various scenes is remarkably done and is a... More
