We visited Hook lighthouse 8th April 2014, We got tickets for a tour, which was very good, the lovely young lady showing us around was very knowledgeable and interesting. We went up all the 115 steps and had the most amazing view. We then went down onto the rocks and spent along time taking in the surroundings. We wish we... More

We were able to get tickets on the spot to enter the lighthouse. The guide was very well versed in its history and was a pleasure to listen to! The experience is kid friendly as there was also a school group there while we were there. My 69 year old mother couldn't handle the steps (115 of them), but she... More

Visited this amazing place, supposedly oldest working lighthouse in the world, we went on a really windy day which apparently is the best time to visit. Lovely tea room and gift shop, very well looked after.

Another great visit to this amazing place. On tour with a small group of 5 people. We had a great tour in the lighthouse. The view from the top is spectacular. The area around the lighthouse is also stunning. I can highly recommend this place! There's also a nice coffee - shop with lovely food etc.

Stuck out at the end of a peninsula, reached by winding roads running through agricultural countryside, this light house is a must see attraction. Over 800 years old, built by the son of Strongbow to warn shipping away. We went on a fairly windy day in wintry sunshine to find it all very atmospheric. The tour is well worthwhile for... More

One of the great treats to this part of the country the stretch of land gives you great views out over the Irish/Atlantic sea. The lighthouse itself has plenty of character and there are plenty of nice routes to go for a stroll and take in the scenery. Popular amongst families, strollers and god walkers alike.

Our family consisting of 2 unfit 40 'somethings' , a teenager and a 9 year old had a brilliant time looking around this beautiful historical lighthouse. I was a little worried as I hate confined spaces and too many steep steps but this was perfect. The tour was informative and interesting and the space was amazing.....the views across the rolling... We had a quick visit to Hook Head on our last day in Ireland, so naturally stopped to see the lighthouse. We didn't have a chance to do the tour of the lighthouse, but do wish we had. In any case, we visited on a gorgeously sunny day, and enjoyed ourselves just by admiring the views from the walls, looking... More
