Called in here and was pleasantly surprised, the gardens and lakes are lovely to walk around. This is topped off with a stop at the Peacock Cafe which has excellent food with a generous size for a very good price.

Beautify spot for a walk and a picnic, the grounds are well maintained and fantastic for photos. Well worth a trip. (The castle itself isn't open to public). Great for kids to run around and let off some steam.....

Just outside Wexford town so a car is advised, but once you are there it is a treat of a day out...we just strolled around and then popped into the museum and cafe, where I had the best rhubarb pie I've had for a long time. If you have kids though and the weather is good, it's a great place... More

Beautiful grounds, peaceful, clean and well-maintained. Great for families. The agricultural museum is understated. It displays an extensive collection of tools, equipment, gadgets, household items, etc. which were part of Irish farming life. A very comprehensive exhibition on the Irish famine. The kids' quiz was a great hit, with answers to the questions scattered throughout the museum. At the end... More

This was a great day from start to finish. If I could give one critique, a little bit of staff training in both the cafe and the museum reception areas would serve well. The museum is fantastic and I love to see the house restored to it's former glory. Overall a great day out

We had a day out at Johnstown Castle and Gardens and thoroughly enjoyed it. The peacock cafe was nice, great food and even the chance to see a peacock expand it's feathers. The grounds and lovely to walk around. Well worth the trip out there.

First time visitor, with a historical society. Well laid out with numerous different sections - gardens, agricultural museum and restaurant. While agricultural equipment may not be of interest to ever visitor there are recreated rooms and shops from different periods. Very enjoyable.

This is a lovely place to visit for a walk in the grounds of an old castle. The walk around the lake is really nice with a lovely old water feature. Bring a camera because plenty of places to take great photos. The castle is not open to the public yet but there is a great agricultural museum in a... More

I'm local to here so we pop in often... Beautiful gardens, where you can potter around for hours. Kids love coming here with bikes or balls etc.
