If you plan on visiting the Bishop's Palace I cannot rate the tour more highly. Not only is it entertaining and really funny, but the guides/re-enactors are spot on with their knowledge of Waterford history. I visited with my University class but there were some young children on the tour also, and it managed to be engaging and fun for... More

Good morning AQ, many thanks for your glowing report of your recent visit to the Bishop's Palace. The tour given by our re-enactors, the butler, Mr What Why and the housekeeper Mrs Rickards in period costume are aimed at giving everyone, both young and old a feel for what it was like in Georgian times and they obviously did that... A beautiful Georgian house that records Waterford history from as early as 1700. The palace offers a guided tour by two energetic tour guides who are even dressed in costumes from this era, they were very informative and full of humour. The treasures on show are magnificent. It is open 7 days a week all year round. A must see... More

I realize how lucky I am having such history on my doorstep - born and living in Waterford but after visiting the Bishops Palace it really brought it home to me. The history that is told in the tour is incredible and made so interesting by the lady and man enacting their way through the house. I very easily switch... More

We bought a ticket to visit Bishop's Palace and The Museum together I think that we were the only visitors at the time so we felt very special. As the name implies it shows mostly treasures of the church with some interesting memorabilia of Waterford at the end. Visit if you get a chance.

Had we not been offered the combined ticket at the Waterford Treasures Medieval Museum, we might not have even known about Bishop's Palace. We were planning a short stop in Waterford on our way from the south of Ireland, back up to Dublin. We decided to make the time for Bishop's Palace and we were pleasantly surprised. The building itself... More

We had a great time visiting this 'museum'. Perfect that with the use of our own audio guide, we could spend as much or as little time in each room of the house as we wished. Well worth a visit when you're next in Waterford.

We had a great tour here recently. There were 4 children in our group and the tour guides made sure to include them in their talk while also making it interesting for the adults. Very good value for a tour of this house and the viking museum. Highly recommended!
