I got a combined ticket with the museum next door, which was great. I got there early and I got a guided tour on my own, with the housekeeper (sorry, can't remember her name). She was great, she told me so much about the history of the palace and the people who lived there, very interesting. Then I got to... More

My young daughter and I visited the palace on Saturday afternoon last and really enjoyed it. The sheer size and opulence is hard to believe. Definitely recommend borrowing the audio guide, it really enhanced the experience for both of us. If you visit this site plus the medieval treasures museum (2 mins walk away) you can get a combined ticket... More

Good morning eaka2007, we are delighted that you and your daughter enjoyed your visit to the Bishop's Palace. The audio guides certainly do enhance your visit when wandering around the palace at your own pace, and there is an even better way to view the palace, maybe on your next trip, is to take the re-enactor led tour of the... We took a day trip to Waterford and I love Georgian architecture so this was a must. The building itself is stunning and well preserved. We took a self guided tour and used the audio device which was included in the price of the entrance fee. I enjoyed the commentary that was voiced by a "former servant". There is not... More

We did the Waterford Medieval Museum before going here - our mistake. The palace is much better. We did not have enough time to enjoy the top floor of the palace (as we... More

I found the guides to be very engaging and interesting with quirky stories. Some cool things to see, especially Waterford Crystal's oldest piece of glass and the top floor full of... More

We visited this palace last weekend. We enjoyed the visit and learnt a lot about the history from staff who are there. They were very helpful as were the guide leaflets available to visitors to point out and explain the main points of interest.
