We drove to Strandhill to see the beach and the ocean during our decent trip to Sligo and were not disappointed!! The area is lovely, although a bit busy on the weekend. Great location for photo opportunities!!

Wow what a wonderful experience to have the whole beach to ourselves not a single sinner on the beach and this is something very very rare where we come from

Great beach when the tide is out. Safe swimming and good beach for surfing beginners. Gorgeous views of Knocknarea and Benbulben in the distance. When the weather is clear, you can see the Donegal mountains across the bay. Parking lot.

Looking for The Beach Bar, we turned off the road too early, but I'm glad we did! The walk along the strand was beautiful, whilst the Beach Bar at the end of the beach was especially welcoming. We only called in for a quick drink, but it was very tempting to stay longer. The patrons are friendly, whilst a pint... More

It's absouletely stunning, the views are brillant and there's nothing u need from it, its just better the way it is. I just wish it wasnt so bloody far away from Sligo as it takes an hour of a journey!

Dunmoran Strand is off the main Ballisodare to Ballina road. I was there mid-week and it had lots of car-parking spaces. There were very few people using the beach although the weather was fine. A few hardy souls were swimming but I chose to walk to the end where I see a new bridge has been installed. One can now... More

Dunmorran strand is one of our local beaches and it's great for a stroll or a more strenuous walk on a blustery day. The sand is clean and the views across the bay to Ben Bulben or further across to the North are great if the weather is clear. The beach is usually quiet with only a few other walkers.... More

As Sligo beaches go, Dunmoran is fine, but not in the premier division. We are kinda spoiled for choice. However, the views of Knocknarea, Ben Bulben and Ben Whisken across the bay are stunning and make this tranquil little corner of Ireland worth a visit. If you have a little time, the Beach Bar at the far end of the... More

Well worth a visit, even on a cloudy day. Have been here 3 yrs in a row for a wonderful charity fundraiser, and the sea is definitely exhilarating! If planning a day visit, bring picnic as this is an unspoiled and remote location, therefore stunning.
