Lovely area with great views. Nice easy walk on the beach or above it. Plenty of free parking. Lovely area to cycle very easy paths The Yeats was the only cafe open for coffee or tea.
This was our first visit to Sligo, we found Rosses Point unspoilt and the countryside to be very beautiful. More importantly, the people really made it for us. Rosses Point has great views and some good options of places to eat. Don't miss this if you are in the area.
I've been to Rosses Point a few times now and each time I do wonder why this is classed as a place of beauty. Coming from Donegal and being surrounded by Golden beaches, I just think Rosses point with its grey sand is dull. Much nicer beaches in the area to visit.

Beautiful area with plenty of walks both beside the beach and beyond. Some places for a cup of coffee and food. worth a visit for the fresh air and sea view.

It is picturesque. A typical resorty-feeling sea-side village with pleasantly painted buildings and lots of boats and a lighthouse. The highlight for us, however, was Harry's Gastro Pub. See my review of Harry's if you wish to hear about the best food and service and atmosphere in Sligo!
I stayed with my son in the Greenlands Caravan Park in late August. The park was basic but clean and functional.
