Perhaps the most magestic point in Ireland... wonderful access by Gortarowey.. more of a taxing climb. This striking & beautiful mountain I pass very often whilst on my way to Mayo. I love its all pervading presence, almost as if lurking over one's shoulder. It's a such a unusual mountain in marvelous surroundings. You can see it from a good distance but only when you get close to it it makes you really WOW! More

On a clear day you can see for miles, well worth the 30-40 minute steep walk. Wear good shoes and don't forget your camera/binoculars More
