Went to this "museum" after being told by the Tourist Information office in Sligo that it was a "must see". This was a pathetic memorial to a great poet...an ancient video that kept running over and over was about the only thing to tell you what Yeat's life was about. I realize Ireland is facing massive funding cuts for small... More

Not much in this Yeats family homestead, however, we stumbled upon a very interesting lecture. So best to check when these are scheduled.

There was very little about Yeats here so we went to the nearby Museum instead and were not disappointed here. They even had a running video of his funeral. Maybe they should switch the names of the two buildings

This is a great place to go to relax, have a coffee or a lunch. Located directly across the road from The Glasshouse Hotel the Yeats Memorial Building is staffed and run in a friendly and hospitable way. Well worth a visit
