This is a nice gallery made up of an old building with a new addition. It has a pleasant atmosphere inside and is worth visiting for this on its own. I did not eat or drink in the cafe but its location within the gallery looked good. It is free which is good, but the exhibition was not very interesting,... More

Stopped over in Sligo on our way to Galway and stumbled across this Museum to see the Jack B. Yeats exhibit. The exhibit itself was lovely (and free) - so was the rest of the museum. Well worth a visit.

Passing through Sligo and found this place by chance - housed in a beautiful building, the people of Sligo are lucky to have a gallery like this on their doorstep - small but perfectly formed

Fantastic way to spend a few hours in Sligo Town, Niland Collection is superb and they boast education, social media, and outreach campaigns that could rival our largest cultural institutions in Ireland. Perhaps a little more information on some the Jack Yeats painting would be nice, a hand out as you enter the exhibition, and the cafe is a little... More

Visited recently to see the Jack B Yeats exhibition. While the Yeats exhibition was very good I really enjoyed the exhibition by the Lebanese artist Rabih Mroué. The model is a beautiful building and the combination if the old school building along with the fabulous new extension is fantastic. Enjoyed some time in the cafe - great wifi and very... More

I volunteered here for the Summer back in 2011 and there's hardly wifi in the gallery rooms, only in the lobby and the cafe which was annoying getting the signal. Also the cafe itself is ridculously expensive to buy food in e.g you get a cookie for €5.00 and if you were a volunteer here like I was, you get... More

I've been really impressed with all the local art centers in N.W. Ireland, all free and all with really interesting and different exhibitions with a broad range of artists, and The Model was my favorite of them all. Absolutely worth a visit!

This concert venue and art gallery is the home of the Niland Art Collection and has strong connections to the Yeats'. The bistro serves original menus and good coffee and very reasonable prices.
