On the way to Galway from Dublin. Easy off and back on the motorway. Absolutely breathtaking views, abby, high crosses, tower, everything you came to see in Ireland. You can even sit in the chair Pope John Paul sat in when he prayed here. It is in the glass chapel you see from the hill. Not many know about this...

We stopped here on our way from Dublin to Galway. Clonmacnois is an old ruin of a church. THere is a short film about the history and a small museum, and then you head outside to explore.
It was a fun stopping point, and a great photo opportunity.
