This was our first castle in Ireland. Lisa, the tour guide, was really knowledgeable and clever in the presentation. She was a history major and highly entertaining. Highly recommend this tour. FYI Trim Castle is a Heritage Site. The TIs (Tourist Information offices) have a free Heritage site brochure that lists the sites around the country that are specified as... More

We had a great time learning about the history of the keep and the castle grounds. Very .informative tour guide. This is considered castle ruins and you will learn what the original castle looked like. Tour was 10 euro family of four. Recommend the full tour and to walk the grounds as well as the town area here. Great way... More

First time in Ireland and went with a friend who lives there. We had a great time and the guide was excellent, and had a great amount of knowledge. Our boys 11 & 13 years enjoyed it also.

The castle was picturesque and abounding with history. There is a tour of the Keep at a slight charge.

Trim Castle is such a find - incredible tour given by Pat who was both knowledgable and handled the group well (considering we had a few loud children). We learned a lot about the area, Irish history, and the castle itself. This is one that must be put on your itinerary.

My Dad and I visited the castle last week. We had been there before about ten years ago and were eager to return. The tour is fantastic value for money at only €4 per person. Our tour guide, a young gentleman, clearly knew Irish history inside out and his passion on the subject was evident. After the tour we spent... More

Tour takes you inside the keep and continues to the roof of the keep for a very nice view of Trim DNS the surrounding countryside. Although the tour guide was a little hard to understand, we enjoyed it. If you are claustrophobic, be warned...there are lots of tight spiral staircases up through the towers. Also , be sure to ask... More

Buy a 16 euro return ticket from Dublin to Trim at the main bus station. They drop you off at the bridge near the castle. Take the trail along the river to the castle which you see easily from the bridge. Buy the 4 euro ticket to visit the grounds and keep tour. The tour in the keep is well... More

The castle has been wonderfully restored and the tour, which is required, is thorough and informative. Not suitable for anyone unable to climb up narrow, uneven stairwells.

I have an OPW card and have been here 3 times this year. Not only do I get in free, the proximity to Dublin and excellent walking / bike path from the castle to the Yellow tower and then up along the river Boyne to see the old hospital, abbey, and even some other points in Trim make for a... More
