It's not very often that I would recommend paying for a tour, I'm a fan of finding my own hidden gems at a historical site rather than suffering the scripted tour given by an uninterested guide. Trim Castle is luckily the other side of the coin. First of all, you may not enter the castle keep without prior paying for... More

The castle is well worth a visit. It is well preserved, and the tour of the inside is exceptional. More

Family of 4 - 13 and 16 year old with their parents - we all loved it! Took the tour and it was so interesting. Immediately had to go watch Braveheart! Saw the window the king threw the guy out of, recognized lots in the movie. Our guide was very interesting and we took lots of pictures. There is an... More

I've stayed at Trim Castle Hotel a few times, enjoying the view of Trim Castle. This year was my first experience of being inside the castle grounds. It was amazing, and I highly recommend the time and minimal costs involved. More

Amazing castle which was used as part of the setting for Braveheart. Quiet, peaceful and calm. Beautiful river walks right beside the castle which afford great views of it. Very well landscaped outside too with lots of open green space. Well worth a visit especially considering the very good entrance price of 3 Euro for an adult. More

Trim Castle is the largest Anglo Norman Castle in Ireland possibly Europe. The Castle is well worth a visit and The Guides that take you up the Keep as part of the Tour are excellent and Do a great Tour. Trim is a beautiful Town and well worth a visit. More

We've visited a couple if times and although we haven't done the tour of the keep - which can't be done with a pushchair - the grounds are still worth a look around. The kids will love exploring! More

Trim Castle is a fine example of how you can explore ruins without the need for total renovation. A walkway allows you to see all levels of the fabulous Keep, including a splendid view from the roof top, and the surrounding grounds are packed full of interesting architectural bits & pieces. Great value - only €4 for both grounds and... More

This is a nice well kept attraction. The castle is in a busy part of town and has a car park beside it (pay and display on Saturdays). We happened to visit on a lovely day and it perhaps wouldn't have been so nice to stroll through the grounds on a wet day. In fairness I wasn't too interested in... More
