The Battle of the Boyne Visitor Centre is very well set up in the Most. There are a few things that could be Improved apon. There is a a disciption of The Battle with a light Display pointing out the route the Battle took and half of the Lights were not working. More

As someone who has very litttle knowledge of Irish history it was an inforamative tour, and at only 4 Euros a head was very well priced. The video they showed was useful and it did explain a lot about the history behind the battle, if anything some more bits and pieces to look at would have been nice i.e. guns/swords... More

Nicely laid out and they make the best of the material and information they have to try to bring the place alive. There are also nice gardens and walks on the Estate which take you to some of the main areas and on a good day can give an better perspective to the visit! More

Visitor centre depicting Williamite and Jacobite Battle of the Boyne. Audio visual show in a separate building across the courtyard is good. AV show lasts 13 mins and is very informative, also 17th century original and replica weaponry displays. The laser battlefield model in the main building is also very good. Beautiful gardens and 5 different walks ranging from 10... More

Stopped here for lunch and a walk on the return journey to Belfast from leaving our duaghter for a ferry in Dublin. We have been around the museum before but this time we just visited the cafe for lunch and had a walk around the walled garden which has some new feature every time we visit. It's not too far... See above, sunny weather was an optional good feature. If a walk is needed, the site is OK. (We did not need it) More

The Battle of Boyne told in a good way where you get a lot of easy accesable information. If you only go to the museum it takes about 45 minutes but the area is beautiful so that adds to the stay. More

There is a bit of everything at the Oldbridge estate, just outside Drogheda. There are a series of lovely walks starting from Oldbridge house that show you where the main events in the battle took place. These are free and it seemed a lot of locals used it for walking their dogs. The house itself has been beautifully restored and... More

En route across Ireland we stumbled upon the Battle of the Boyne Visitor Centre at Oldridge. Gerry the Guide was an encylopedia of knowledge and would definitely be my "phone a friend" on who wants to be a millionaire!. He patiently talked us through the history and all the kings / pretenders and usurpers that made up that fascinating period... More
