Absolutely amazing scenery. People all the way along are very friendly. We had great sunny days which helped a lot!! In the Gaeltacht too - so brushed up a bit on my Gaeilge!

Wonderful drive by car along windswept coast. Surfers enjoying the waves then suddenly around the next corner deserted cottages reminiscing the past. Narrow roads and stone walls abound. A nice little drive, only about 15km long I think but worth getting off the main road for.

We met very friendly people. Loved Achill, scenery, beaches, Keemun, Deserted village, good scones and Coffee.

The roads are narrow, terrain is hilly in places but the views are breathtaking! The sky and impending rain only added to the beauty. We went to the deserted village, a couple of beaches and wound our way along as much coastline as possible. We even saw a sheep dog gathering up some of the wanderers along a rocky coastline.

Well worth a day trip from Westport. One of Irelands best coastal drives. The Beehive is a marvelous place for a mid-day meal or afternoon tea. Have a good map or GPS...it can be easy to get turned-around in certain parts of the island. And the best comes at the very END!

Beautiful countryside, but narrow roads! A bit daunting for an American, especially if you're not familiar with driving on the left.

I liked the peace and serenity the scenery and the wildness of the sky and lashing of the high waves over the rocks and the wind and sea spray in my face. Crossing the bridge to Achill was like entering a different world with a climate of it's own.

I liked the beautiful area and beautiful scenery especially when the sun shines! Achill Island itself has stunning scenery. The roads are winding but in very good condition. Well worth a visit.
