we had a ball on the crossing to the Island. the children loved the ferry. the lads on the boat were friendly and joking with them and showing them where to look for dolphins ect. the ferry back was a bit older and rougher but for the half hour we were on board it was still a great service

Again a most welcomed trip to Clare Island with the O'Gradys. We has an excellent lunch too. A great place to get away from it all

... but that was due to the weather! It was lashing down with rain on our arrival so we had to head to the pub until it was time for the return ferry. The lack of weatherproof gear (our fault not to check the weather forecast!) was the main problem. I would like to go again on a return visit...... More

We arrived without our voucher but girl at office was very helpful & allowed us on ferry and we send her details later. The ferry was very busy & staff very helpful. Pity day was very stormy and wet which was a poor experience to comment on. The island was nice as it was very wet didn't get to explore... More

We were determined to go to Clare Island - unfortunately it was on a very rough, windy, wet day. The crew were fantastic!

If you're in the area then a visit to Clare island (as per the saw doctors song!) is an absolute must! It really is rather beautiful and even though the weather was exceptionally windy, it has plenty to offer alongside gorgeous beaches. The ferry was quick and the journey was made even better when one of the crew told us... More

If you want to visit Clare Island you have to take a ferry unless you are a damn good swimmer or have your own boat. The ferry service is a vital to the island and a wonderful experience for visitors too.
