Well worth a visit if even just to walk the grounds and surrounding areas. There is a lovely walk down by the river and its spectacular on a sunny day. The University itself is enormous and sprawling and you can walk for miles just looking at the scenery and the buildings.

I disagree with last review UL as it is known locally is a beautiful place to visit. Local people use it all the time as a leisure aminity you can walk all the way to the city via the plassey bank with the river on your right side, you can cross the river by two different bridges on foot to... Don't leave the city to visit the grounds unless you would like to visit the living bridge or Munster Rugby training grounds at the University arena. It is a great campus for prospective students but not tourists.

The path along the river provides a wonderful view and quiet reflection area. The campus itself is quite impressive with the variety of architecture and facilities. A definite highlight is the sports facility and the university has a plethora of clubs and activities to offer. Plenty of on campus events and activities to engage students. An excellent place to visit... More

They have a fantastic running track, and a great infield (where Ireland rugby team train some times). They have a sports arena with swimming pools diving pool, weights room, rowing (both... More

Aside from the obvious reasons for attending UL, the campus also offers several kilometers of walking/cycling paths. My family and I go there regularly to either walk or cycle around the campus. There is a circuit that crosses two bridges over the river Shannon, one of the bridges (the Living Bridge) has benches where you can rest and view the... More
