This is a good way to see the City of Kilkenny if you have limited mobility. However if you are fit enough I'd skip the kiddie train and explore the delights of the narrow cobbled streets and lane ways on foot. You only see glimpses of main attractions and there's no hop on hop off facility due to the difficulty... More

We enjoyed a 45 min train ride around the sights of Kilkenny. The prices were reasonable and the trip enjoyable. A very nice way to get an overview of the city.

We decided we would have a go and for a small gee we boarded and waited to leave listening to Irish accordion music, the train took off and we couldn't really see anything but it was a laugh all the way and great way to find some shop, it took 30 mins and was ok

Great way to spend a random 30 minutes, remember to wave to the locals and tip the driver! Great way to get your bearings of the city

We were only in the city for the day, and spotted the train. We didn't know about it beforehand, but it attracted our eye. The train is spotless clean, seats are hard but not uncomfortable, and not so tight that you feel like a sardine in a moving can. The driver was extremely pleasant and informative - just the right... I am very sorry that you had this experience. However I think there may have been some confusion as our historical tours of Kilkenny only operate from March- October and I note you posted the comment in December. Tickets for this tour can only be purchased from the train driver on the train. The tour is 30 min long and runs... More

On a one-day visit to Kilkenny with some friends, we decided to board the Road Train that departs from outside the Castle. I would have to admit that we did so because it had started to rain and the covered carriages of the train seemed like a very good sight-seeing option! It turned out to be a very good decision.... Really nice short (30 min) trip around Kilkenny with a good commentary. Worth doing to hear about the city and see some sights you might miss.

Our little boy loved this train lots to see and you even get a guided tour - with Irish music in-between. We would have never been able to find some of the places the train went to.
