I had a great day out with my little man Tadhg. We started off in the playground and then we went Orienteering €3 + €2 deposit which we got back when we returned the map. Tadhg wasn't mad about the idea till he found the first check point on his bike then after that he was happy out to find... More

A very interesting presentation of the geology of coal. The mining and the running of the mines with videos of miners and relations of those killed telling their stories of this most dangerous and health hazard job.

My wife and I visited the Castlecomer discovery park and it was excellent, my father came from Moneenrow and worked in the Deepark mine and had told me stories as a child. When we did the experience it was only my wife and I the young girl started it off for US and told us how to proceed, this experience... More

I had a Kilkenny craft trail brochure I had downloaded online and noticed several artisans were at this location so we headed here to check it out. They need to change the name of this place because it screams cheesy amusement park or something. I would have never come near it if it wasn't for the artists studios here. Without... More

Basically its a hilly park/woodland. There are 2 fishing lakes (1 fly & 1 bait), with rainbow trout. Way over priced for the quantity of the fish You can keep (and sometimes the lack of catching). There is a small play are for kids right at the entrance and a bbq/picnic area beside the river. In the car park is... More

The setting is very relaxing and its in a wooded area with a lovely river and bridge alongside, some picnic benches, green areas to have a nice relaxing bite to eat. The park is good if you have children that are adventurous and love the thrill of heights, I think its recommended for 7+ but there is a small playground... More

Excellent place for the whole family. We were interested in the mining exhibits which were brilliant. Value is excellent and well worth a visit.

If you would like a walk in the countryside then this is the place. There are three walks to pick from we took the easy option around the lakes it took about half an hour. A great place to take children. There are also some pottery shops and a cafe.

This was a good family fun day, we all did the treetops walk.. for age 7 up and our kids loved it. We did see afew children who tried but were too timid once they were up so be careful that you do have a good look round trail before you pay for tickets. Good safety harness on and helmet... More

Tree top walk good for children aged 10 and up. Liked forest walks and activities. Boys got first hand stone carving instruction, great experience.
