Castlecomer Discovery Park is a great destination for all the family, we visited without any major expectation and were very impressed with the variety of activities on offer. Pros: Only €2 per car for entry to the park Beautiful forest walk, we also decided to take on the Orienteering course (extra €3 for maps etc) which the whole family including... More

I met up with a friends and her kids recently and we had a selection of different walks available to us to use. The children had a great time investigating the area as we leisurely walked around. Playground was great fun and the outdoor adventure activities (tree climbing, absailing etc) looking great fun. Lovely cafe/restaurant on site was an added... More

All I have said above, also can cater for school trips as has ample parking for coache, car, bikes even a horse or 2. Set in from a river. Not deep.

We brought our two year old to this park and he loved the elf garden in zone 4 and the playground. As he gets older we're sure he'll love to accompany us on the bigger walk around the estate. It only cost €2 for parking so an absolute bargain!

Our school recently spent a full day here. We had an amazing day out. We enjoyed the educational primary science and the maths programme on offer. The pupils participated in The Coal Mining Exhibition, Invertebrate Collection, Water Ecology and Orienteering Trails. The staff were very friendly. Highly recommend it. We visited the park while on a family holiday near Kilkenny. We brought 2 small children (3 and 5), and for them this place was amazing. We actually visited twice over the course of the week we were here. The first time we met friends with a small boy of 6. all three children enjoyed the walk through the forest... More

We visited here on a pleasant Nov Sunday. It only costs a few euro to park and for that we had a lovely walk and picnic near the lakes and a play in the playground. We didn't try the activities but will return to do so. The cafe was very nice too and there was plenty of room for our... More

We were visiting kilkenny over the easter break and literally just followed the signs to the castlecomer discovery park, and wow! What a surprise. The park itself is beautiful, with walking trails, a lake with peddle boats & canoes, a river for fishing and a kids adventure playground not to mention the sky walk and other climbing activities for the...
