An easy walk along the river with lots of picture worthy views of farm animals , wild birds and quaint cottages. A visit to Duisk Abbey in Craiguenmamagh and a pub lunch. Then back along the river to St. Mullins.

I went on a self-guided canadian canoe trip on the river Barrow. We rented the canoe and tent from gowiththeflow.ie Very reasonably priced, all excellent equipment and no prior experience required. Trip was brilliant: paddling down the river by day, seeing fish, kingfishers, plant life and keeping out eyes peeled for otters. Dropped into towns for supplies and camped on... More

Kingfishers, an egret, and watching a bat catch insects in the noon sun above the water. . . plus no cars, made this a great trip.
