I was home on holidays from England and enjoyed a lovely few days in Killarney, unfortunately our day out in coolwood was very disappointing. On a positive note the staff were nice and very friendly but this did not suffice for the condition of the place. As a mother of an active 4 and 7 year old they were very... More

Unfortunately the standards very poor, no real tour in place, just walk the trail for an hour, playground is a joke, a slide & a old tyre tied to a tree, no food available, on the upside staff are nice

This is recommended as part of a list of things to do with kids in Kerry. Our gang were very excited, with the variety of animals on display on the website. They don't take credit card, and they're a far distance from any ATM, so make sure to bring cash. I think that any tourist attraction worth its salt should... More

This was my second time (and probably last!) in this little park, which has great potential but so desperately needs some TLC in general, and serious attention to the welfare of its inhabitants! From cramped, far too small and overgrown, unkempt cages for birds such as snow owls to very distressed seeming furry friends (running in a circle on the... More

This was our second trip to this wildlife park! Its very peaceful and scenic!! The animals are very well treated. Lots of birds and animals to see. My boy aged 6 had freedom to run around. Well worth a visit. Good value and very accessible from killarney

Day #53 on my #100happydays journey on facebook brought me to Coolwood Wildlife Park after work this afternoon & Just Wow! After your initial walk up the main path you encounter this explosion of sound & vision and your senses will be going 90! It divides into Wetland & Grassland areas & you're invited to visit all aspects and you... More

.Took a visit to Coolwood yesterday as there was a review on Welfare issues of these animals. Let me tell you i saw nothing wrong there what so ever. I am currently studying animal welfare in college and no what is envolved. The birds of prey were in top condition and well fed and breeding signs of happy healthy birds.... More

All I can say is that someone from the ISPCA should pay a visit, we were very concerned by the filth, lack of space in the cages, birds of pray in tiny enclosures with barely any space to move, an iguana who could do with some sunlight and a skunk who looked suicidal from boredom, they had a tiny raccoon... This was our third year running to visit coolwood. The staff were so nice, we sent ages speaking to lady that worked there. It was lovely to be able to see and rub the animals. The animals are so friendly. We loved the male lemur that was out running around. Like I said, this was our third time and it... More

We had a trip here in August. We met Harry the lemur who was friendly to everyone but my daughter, he either cleaned his bottom when she came near or ran away, he liked the rest of us though so that was alright (lol). It's nice to be be able to get up close to the animals. Yes it can... More
