This was so disappointing. We hoped that this would be a highlight of our visit to Ireland, but in practice the site was packed with distressed animals, in cages far too small. In particular the raccoons (which we hoped would be a highlight) were showing traditional signs of distress. This site is cruel, and you would be better staying away... More

This is a beautiful spot just outside Killarney town set in the woods. Very well set out with good walkways. Animals all loved and well cared for. Great hands on areas for children. Only negative is the bird area which could do with a bit of a make-over. However, this is a family run park depending on public support to... More

Brilliant. Loved how close you can get to the animals. They are all well cared for and being an animal lover felt that they are in good hands. Fantastic morning out for families and animal lovers in general. Its also a great spot for school trips and excursions.

I had my little cousin for the day, so I decided to take her out for a treat, we both love adventure and animals so it was the perfect place! It's lovely and so scenic, I loved the natural feel it gave, though it was still well looked after, fresh leafs and food for the animals, plenty of water and... More

Visited the park today with my fiancee and son. First time visitors. I must say we were very disappointed. The birds and animals are beautiful but the facility needs alot of maintenance and repair work. The wet land area is very dirty and the pathways are overgrown. The animal pins are dirty and the animals don't seem happy. Alot of... More

We had passed the turn off to this wildlife park and never bothered to investigate. A park in unusual waterland/hilly terrain with abundant interesting animal life. Nice walk up from the car park it is one a mile or so up from the Cork/Killarney road.

We were told about this place by The Ewe in Glengarriff, otherwise we would have missed a great afternoon. It has a wonderful entrance and pathways that lead you around the grounds, with information about the animals. It is impressive for a family run business. Our kids 5, 7 and 9 enjoyed it and we really appreciated the work involved... More

Just discovered this little gem on our last day in Killarney and we had the best time there. Cool Wood is a family run wildlife sanctuary with lots to engage adults and especially children. You get there with a gently 8 minute walk through a beautiful wooded walk. The area is divided into two main areas, the woodland and the... More

We visited today, 4 adults and 2 children aged 2 and 1. I must say it was the most relaxing and enjoyable afternoon we have had in a long time. There was a large variety of animals and in a natural environment. After speaking with the owners they obviously have a great love for all the animals at the park.... More
