We did not do the walk but saw the signs as we drove the Ring of Kerry. If I was younger and stronger I definitely would do it. We saw people along the way and all seem to be enjoying themselves.

So I think The Kerry Way is technically supposed to refer to a walking trail, whereas the road/drive is called the "Ring of Kerry." Despite that fact, most reviews here seem to be for the driving route, so that's what I'll review. We drove clockwise (opposite most traffic including buses), but it really wasn't too bad. Depending on your speed... More

We decided to drive the route counter clockwise. We started before 10:00 in the morning hoping to beat the bus traffic. Ended up they had the same idea. Didn't matter though, because the bus drivers are very good, driving at a good pace. Roads at times are narrow, too narrow for 2 cars passing but there are pull off spots,... More

The rain bounced off the road all the way but it didn't spoil the amazing view. Indeed the misty, wet weather added atmosphere to our journey. We enjoyed the watering holes at all our stops. Brilliant.

Amazing views, incredible people, lots to see and do. The one downside was that, as a driver, the buses quite often forced us off the side of the road to pass and very rarely even slowed down when passing. A nervous driver could find this difficult.

We had rain all week so I did not see the point in going. Then one afternoon it brightened up and we went at about 3.30 coming back at around 8pm. It was still light, some of the teashops were still open at 6 when we stopped for a drink and a cake, and there were no coaches to scare... More

Highly Recommend the Ring of Kerry tour. There are so many beautiful sites and many local artisans who sell their wares along the road. We saw many bikers on the road as well.

Wonderful drive but took much of the day. Better part of the drive on the homeward Killarney route. Enjoyed chocolate factory - try the whiskey chocolate.
