We only did a short part of the Kerry Way and that was enough (Killarney to Kenmare circuit). Would be a long and stressful day to drive the whole loop me thinks. Slea Head Drive on the Dingle Peninsula is much better.

You cannot loose this trip! Drive along the Kerry county and you will be captured by extraordinary views! Deep blue sea, alternating to bright green country, lakes and rivers.

The Kerry Way is basically an inland loop trail that begins and ends in Killarney. It is 130 miles long. Trail conditions and footing in some sections of the trail are very bad. Days can be long with sections of the trail more than 18 miles in length. If you are interested in all or art of the trail there... More

Whichever way you choose tour the Kerry Way, be sure to give it all the time you need to soak up the potential. The views, historic buildings, wildlife, boat trips, ferry rides, jaunty cars and so much more to stop and see and do. The Ring of Kerry attracts a lot of tour buses and we took the advice of... Great views but very long and we did it by car counter-clockwise. I got nauseous during the drive because of so many curves. But the views are breathtaking and well worth it. Highly recommand Valentia island if going, beautiful and no tour busses. Roads are small and scary at some points. Great experience over all.

Several small villages full of tourists, coaches, cars and associated needs -- gift shops, restaurants, hotels & B&Bs. You cannot get lost since THE road is about the only way to get around. Good public toilet in Sneem.
