Done the ring of Kerry by coach and it is one of the most picturesque areas that we saw in Ireland. Changing vistas make this a very nice drive.

This was a lovely way to spend the morning. We stopped in Waterville, which is a halfway point. It was a vacation spot for Charlie Chaplin and his family. They have a statue of him on the waterside of the road. We stopped for lunch (it was okay), and enjoyed the scenery. Lots of people milling about here. We drove back... More

Wow! this drive was fantastic. We were a little anxious before setting out, envisaging tiny narrow roads and buses. There were spectacular views at just about every turn and plenty of places to pull off the road for better looking and photo opportunities. We also drove the Skellig Route which was just as wonderful. Although we did wait to catch... More

We did the Kerry Way for an enitre week and not part of one of those tourist groups. But, when just with a rental car. So worth it! So many amazing sites to see and truthfully better than riding on a bus.

County Kerry in Ireland is a beautiful part of the country. It has lakes, hills, waterfalls, glens and is bounded by the Atlantic in the west. We took a trip called the 'Ring of Kerry'. of about 100 miles touring the county which covered all these. It finally brought us through the hilly forest of the Killarney National Park past the... We did not do the walk but saw the signs as we drove the Ring of Kerry. If I was younger and stronger I definitely would do it. We saw people along the way and all seem to be enjoying themselves.

So I think The Kerry Way is technically supposed to refer to a walking trail, whereas the road/drive is called the "Ring of Kerry." Despite that fact, most reviews here seem to be for the driving route, so that's what I'll review. We drove clockwise (opposite most traffic including buses), but it really wasn't too bad. Depending on your speed... More

We decided to drive the route counter clockwise. We started before 10:00 in the morning hoping to beat the bus traffic. Ended up they had the same idea. Didn't matter though, because the bus drivers are very good, driving at a good pace. Roads at times are narrow, too narrow for 2 cars passing but there are pull off spots,... More
