First, let me say, we live in Southern California and have driven up the California Coast along Hwy 1 through Morro Bay, San Simeon, Monterey, Carmel and on to SF many times. I think having driven that road and seen the sights, perhaps my expectations for the Kerry Way were a bit high and the "awe" factor just wasn't there... More

We spent 5 full days hiking a portion of the Kerry Way, following a similar but more inland route as those do who take bus tours .,I suppose there are "oohs "and "ahs" from buses but really, this is something one ought see on foot...just be prepared to get wet, muddy, and occasionally curse the weather( okay, more than occasionally)... I spent 11 days hiking from B&B to B&B along the Kerry Way, with additional day hikes on either end. While there are no high mountain peaks, it's a serious hike with some very long days and plenty of up-and-down and diversity. Killarney National Park was lovely although I was sad to see them turning the main trail into a... More

I see many reviews bad-mouthing this Kerry Way as not pretty enough or not so special or what's the hype ( and that it takes three hours). The Kerry Way is a 200 Kilometer WALKING TRAIL, people! There are beautiful trails all over the Iveragh Peninsula (where the Ring of Kerry ROAD is located). Some split off for good day... More

A drive to be taken at your own pace. So many places to stop and enjoy. Do try the side roads there's lots of interest at the end and. Often places to eat. An early start is a good idea particularly clockwise as you avoid meeting tourist buses on the narrowest bits.

Do not miss this! We drove the entire ring and stopped at numerous look outs. The views are spectacular and the scenery along the way is great. We all fell in love with Killarney and County Kerry and we will be back soon!

We drove the Ring of Kerry and the Skelligs on St. Patrick's day. It was amazing. There was virtually no traffic (no tour buses). The weather was sunny and about 60 F. What a gerat day. Don't miss it.
