We drove through the hills frm Killarney and then round the coast. The views are spectacular and we were lucky to have sun. We did the hilly bit again, and had even better weather...who says it always rains!

I've done the kerry way in march 2012. Wanted to camp along the way but thats most of the time nearly impossible. All private ground and you can't find the owner and extremely muddy everything.
- there is no hostel in sneem, only b&b's
- both ostels in kenmare open on st. patricks day

The Kerry way is one of the most beautiful walks in the world. It is suitable for all ages and abilities you can break it up into smaller walks. Just look out for the signs. The area around Kenmare Bay is gorgeous and in the Killarney National Park. Worth a visit.

I found this very difficult as I was with a flue/chest infection, and this was the race called the wild west run from Kenmare to Muckross, thirteen miles through the mountains and then to the torc waterfall and then from there back to Muckross, very good sceenary, and diversity and would love to visit there again.

Make sure you give a good few hours for this one....admire the stag/deer on top along The Kerry Way.....truly at one with nature.....if you up for the endurance or short route...it is to be enjoyed.
