What a delightful drive this turned out to be, with different vistas around every bend and when we travelled it, hardly any traffic! It was super just to travel at our own pace and drink it all in - I am deeply envious of the locals who hopefully realise how fortunate they are to have such beautiful surroundings on their... More

We drove the Kenmare Road to head towards Cork and such a gorgeous drive. We did the entire road and really enjoyed it. We stopped numerous times to take in the lakes and mountain views. It was raining heavy for us so we didn't get to see as much as we would like but it was still amazing

This has to be one of the fine drives in Ireland. Take is slow and go in the daytime for the 40,000 shades of green.

This is a wonderful place with brilliant views of the Purple mountain and the lakes. It is an enchanting road, with lots of places to pull over and take photos. Kenmare is a lovely town and has lots of super coffee shops and restaurants.

Great walk, and yes its walk, its old road no longer suitable for cars. Took us about 6 hours to do. Started near Torc and got a spin back to Torc, must do it the other way around sometime.

I can't recommend this walk highly enough. Parking in the upper Torc car park it is approx. a 5 hour walk, it can be done in less but it's nicer to take breaks and enjoy the scenery. Considering the distance you would need to organise transport back to your starting position again as it would be inadvisable to try turn... More

We entered it out of curiosity from the regular " new " road to Kenmare and it is indeed a great road to walk . It is unimaginably picturesque and beautiful and all the structures spike your imagination.
