Sweet silence

B articulate stained glass. The acoustics must be incredible. Would have been nice to have heard some music.

Looks like it was built yesterday! So much history and loads of readable information notices. Go early in the morning to avoid the crowds, only us and 2 other visitors. We left at 9 a.m. and the buses were starting to arrive.

This is a monster for the size of the local population. It is beautiful inside although not as old and historic as others, it is still a must if in Killarney. For those with a car there is a free car park on the city side of the Cathederal

A huge cathedral with amazing stained glass and statuary. The chapels in this church are beautiful as well as the candle displays. It is hard to imagine how the soaring ceilings were constructed in the days of old.

Love this cathedral. Must be amazing to be married in it with its huge ceilings of rich wood and it's beautiful stone work. I've seen it set up for a wedding before and whilst it is huge, it still seems quite intimate. Great photo opportunities to be had with the little. Chapels off the main Chapel. Definitely worth a visit... More

Love the fabric and architecture of this stunning cathedral, its shrines and sacred spaces. Take time so sit and absorb the atmosphere of peace and tranquility. The majesty of the workmanship leaves one in awe whilst the grey stone has a somewhat austere feel to it. The stained glass windows are interesting and tell many interesting stories, not so keen... Beautiful example of the Killarney stone. All plaster has been removed both inside and out leaving the original stone exposed. Wonderful stained glass - don't miss!

This cathedral is beautifully situated and near the end of the walking tour of the "Medieval Mile" I love that it feels like a neighborhood cathedral despite the grandeur of the building itself. Beautiful inside and out!

Went for a weekday Mass. Beautiful Church and lovely service. The church just for architecture is worth a stop. Very friendly parish.
