My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed walking through the Muckross House. The gardens were exquisite and the weather cooperated so it was even better. The house is beautifully kept with original furniture and a great story to go with it as well.

The tour through the mansion takes a little less than an hour, and on a rainy day in October, it was the perfect activity. Our guide gave a breezy history of the mansion, pointing out the highlights of each room. To preserve some of the draperies and rugs, natural light is limited in the dining room and a few other... We loved Muckross Estate, which is how you would envision how the upper classes lived years ago. The home and furnishings are amazing and perfectly restored. Our tour guide was lovely as well. You must visit here!

I travelled to Muckross house with my 11 year old daughter. It was beautiful. The tour was excellent and the surrounding gardens are also brilliant. I would highly recommend a family day out. Even if it is raining it is still beautiful. Very good value for money. It was like Downton Abbey.

We saw a lot of restored homes and castles while traveling through Ireland and this was, by far, the best! It's very well maintained and still very classy. The guided tour was excellent and the guide very informative. This would be especially fun for Downton Abbey fans. You can't help but see scenes from the show while you are there.... More

We arrived early and had the luxury of being the only couple on the guide tour of the house. We were accompanied by the very knowledgable eibhlin (I think that was her name.) stunning architecture, great stories of previous inhabitants and visitors.

we pulled in off the ring of Kerry into a large car park. the gardens are extensive and you can walk in a lovely setting exploring the grounds for free. There is a café, although we did not try it and the house does have guided tours, but the house was not open at the time of the visit. Definitely... More

The tour of the house was amazing, showing loads of the house, how people lived over the past 100 years etc... Would highly recommend it.

The peaceful walks are etc make you want to return again & again. Parts of the gardens a little untidy but i imagine this was due too trees lost by 2 bad winters. Nevertheless this is a beautiful place. Just go there .
