Beautiful castle set in Kinvara bay, still has the old medieval style and takes you back in time! Great experience! :)

DUNGUAIRE CASTLE, GALWAY, IRELAND This evening we had the opportunity at attend a wonderful dinner performance in a REAL castle - Dunguaire. Upon entering the Castle you are greeted by a person clad in a period red velvet jacket and a top hat. There was a fair damsel giving everyone a cup of cheer called Mead ( an alcoholic beverage... Although we didn't do a banquet we did visit the castle and it was amazing . To learn the history of the castle and to know its origins with poets etc was made for a very interesting visit

Stunning venue, a restored 16th century castle on a rocky outcrop in Galway Bay. We were met at the door and given an earthenware cup of mead which went down like a treat...beware if you don't drink regularly! A very skilled harpist played lilting Irish music in the Entrance Hall while we drank our mead. It has to be said... More

Had a fun evening our very first evening in Ireland. Despite a little jet lag, we really enjoyed the incredible scenery around and in the castle, the very adequate meal and drink, and the introduction to the music and poetry of the place. Small venue that wouldn't hold a tour bus full of people if they tried, which made it... More

We came here for the medieval banquet and had a blast. The food, ambiance, and company was fantastic. The castle is gorgeous and has a beautiful scenic overlook. I would highly recommend this for your family as the singing and show is fantastic, as is the food!!!!

It was really neat to eat in the castle and so I would recommend it as a less crowded alternative to Bunratty but it was not a medieval meal. (Although who knows if that would have been as tasty!) The food was good and traditional- Irish. The harpist was talented. We arrived 30min early since we were coming from far... More

Dunguaire Castle's banquet is more of an 18th century banquet, and is the most unique of the castle banquets offered. I'm not sure if I would recommend it to others who have been to these types of dinners before, due to similarity of the event, but I found it enjoyable for it's novel approach to the entertainment. Pros -You may... More

This really was an unexpected pleasure as I didn't anticipate a lot of the features of this genuine authentic Medieval Banquet that lead us so well and entertained us non-stop all evening
