This attraction was one we booked before we left the USA. The castle itself is neat, but you have to get there well in advance of the banquet if you want to tour it, as it's closed while preparations for the banquet are going on. The meal itself was OK, not gourmet, and it's served at long communal tables. The... More

We enjoyed a night of great food (a four course meal) and wine along with entertainment. The Harp player made beautiful music.

This kinda reminded me of similar dining feasts in Orlando, Florida. You sit at a long table and there is entertainment while you eat. Overall a fun time, great for kids. The actors are very well versed in their "roles". Nice place to spend the evening in a genuine old castle.....you don't get that in Orlando! Nice job !

Although the idea of a banquet in a castle may sound very touristy, it was a marvelous experience. The hosts make you feel very welcome through medieval role play, calling guests "my lady" and "my lord". The banquet starts with a reception with some honey wine and an introduction to the castle, all through poetry and song. The guests are... More

As the early evening began to shift from coolish to slight misty rain we were let into the castle "foyer" where we were treated to a harpist playing and served Mead, a honey liquor and it was delightful. Then we ascended a spiral staircase to the 3rd floor where banquet seating was set up with benches to sit on. We... More

The castle has been well conserved and the visit is completely worth it. We went to Galway for our anniversary and definitively was a very nice stop. Worth paying to get to the top.

We'd stopped at Bunratty earlier in the day and were bummed we weren't there at the right time for a banquet. Then we found out about Dungauire and timed our arrival perfect for their banquet. It's nothing like the US version of Medieval Times in Orlando! No horses or jousting. But really good entertainers who work really hard. They not... More

First, I've never eaten in castle before. You're greeted at the door by people in period costumes and offered a cup of mead - honeyed wine. This is a small, intimate castle that was lived in not too long ago. Dinner takes place "upstairs" which requires all the guests to climb a narrow, original spiral, stone staircase. The room is... An ancient ruin of another castle, but a really stunning location. This is a photo op stop. Not much else here. TA would not allow me to attach pictures for this one.
