Magical night in Dunguaire Castle Banquet

I had always wanted to feast in a castle so I was very excited to attend. I'm glad I wore warm clothes as it was cold in the castle even in May. We were greeted at the door like royalty and were given a bowl of honey mead before being shown up a flight of narrow stone stairs to the... More

Dun Guaire ( a 15th Century Castle ) is situated on Galway Bay and the Banquet is a " must see " for anybody holidaying in the area. I have been many times and love it - on every visit. Enjoy! I did!

If you aren't castled-out, you should really attend the medieval banquet at Dunguaire. We were pretty done by the time we visited Dunguaire, so we didn't stay for the banquet. But, it looked like a lot of fun!

Dunguaire Castle is definitely a must see. We enjoyed visiting the castle and also enjoyed the gift shop. The jewelry maker onsite was especially a bonus.

Food was great. Intertainment was okay, not typical Irish. Perhaps they could make it a little livelier. But everyone must experience one medieval banquet.

We happened to stop with the intention of just looking around thinking we could tour the castle before the banquet and were told they close the castle to tours to prepare for the banquet. Since we had tickets for... More

We did a quick Photo Op. at the castle only. Photo perfect on the Bay. Parking convient about 500 meters up the road.
