Been here a few times, and it is always busy. The ciders and pints. The food is also excellent. Comfortable seeking and live music.

Taaffes is one of the finest spots in Galway to sit out and watch the world go by on Shop St. Always good for the Trad Session also, the creamiest of Guinness to go with it makes it one of the better places you can visit when in Galway.

We had a great time here listening to music and enjoying our drinks. My daughter is spending a semester in Galway and this is her hang out. We could see why and we were more than happy to experience this place.

Spent two nights in a row at this awesome pub! The live music was excellent. Met a lot of new people, great conversation and a lot of laughs. Looking forward to returning in the very near future.

We only stopped in for a drink and to see the interior. Lots of little "snugs" to sit in. We were not disappointed because even in the late afternoon, musicians were playing in the corner. Not for us ... for themselves. Sat outside with our Guinness and ate pizza from the Napolese style pizzeria next door. We figured it was... More

We ate here and listened to the early traditional music session. The staff were helpful and friendly and food was good. We enjoyed it so much we returned that evening. A regular band minus one member were playing. They were excellent and on discovering we were Scottish, played a couple of songs from home which was very sweet of them.... More

We stopped at Taaffes for a drink and music. The music was terrific, and we had a great time. The pub was crowded, but that's because the music was so good.

Great location, great live music but the place must have been over it's fire safety capacity because we couldn't move. Getting barged in the back by people trying to get to the toilets and to the bar. Bar staff couldn't handle the numbers as they were very rude and stressed. Bouncers were forcing their way through the crowd, pushing customers... More
