We went for the 5.30pm music session and were not disappointed. The place was packed but that just added to the atmosphere. If you want to just chill having walked the town and sample good quality Irish music then this would be hard to beat.

We were walking by and saw their sign that they have traditional music twice a day, including one earlier in the day. So we popped and delighted by the tunes. We went elsewhere for dinner, but came back for the late night music as well. The vibe in the evening was much more lively. It was different at the different... More

Galway is like the New Orleans of Ireland - live music everywhere - on the streets and in the bars/pubs. Of all the places we visited, Taaffes had the most and best. Sets from 5:30, and terrific musicains. They have a food menu, but I didn't see one person eat in our 3 visits. Go for the music, atmosphere and... More

Taaffes is fantastic, cute, happy, cozy, friendly, fun and great Irish music pub. We went here couple of nights during our stay in Galway and enjoyed every single night. Great crowd and happy atmosphere with lovely authentic Irish music every day 17.30 and 21.30.

Loved this pub! Went looking for traditional Irish music and found it here. Most pubs had live music which was great but being in Ireland we decided to look for the Irish traditional. This pub was packed and the music was great. Even bought the pub t-shirt.

This place was worth the price of the airfare to Ireland itself. Great Irish trio playing the night we were there and a great crowd. Try a Galway Hooker beer, loved it.

This pub is seriously so much fun! If you are looking for the authentic Irish experience... Go here. They have the absolute best live Irish music!! It gets a bit crowded and you probably won't have a spot to sit but it's okay because its such a cool place! If you're in galway be sure to stop here!

My wife and I decided to stop and have a drink in here after seeing a lot of sites within the city, we got in and its a proper traditional Irish pub. Arrived around 3 o'clock in the afternoon and noticed a sign saying that there was live music every day at 17:30 and 21:30 so we decided we would... More

We loved this place and went there often. They have Irish music at 5:30 and 9:30 - so you can select one or both. There's always a crowd there so many times you will be standing; but that was ok. Very lively and fun place
