Taaffes never lets you down where there is live music in the back! Most nights have live music, usually some Irish pub songs, but not the cheesy stuff. It's really music--loud and hectic. The pints are cold and well-priced. If you are out in Galway, you must stop off in Taaffes.

Sausages were sliced down the middle and obviously reheated . The man that served me was friendly and prompt. No complaints there . Just the quality of the food was below par.

Got the sausage sandwich which was under 6 euros. Good tasting food. Small place with little seating so we kind of felt rushed to get out so other people could sit down.

Having visited Galway and more importantly Taaffes bar in March we decided to visit again last week, we wanted to see the Crazy Crowe Ballad band who play on a Thursday night, and are fantastic. Having had such a fab night when we were there in March we were a bit worried it may not live up to our expectations... More

Our walking tour guide recommended three pubs to hear traditional Irish music. We picked this one since they advertise two sittings for music each night. The first begins at 5:30 and we arrived at that time--not a seat to be had. The music "groupies," which appeared to be family and friends of the four players, had all the seats in... More

We had one of our best nights in Taaffes Pub. We arrived at about 8:30 on a Saturday night. It was very busy but luckily we found a seat right beside the stage. The bartenders were fantastic. They were extremely busy but always found the time to make suggestions for what Whisky we would like. The band came on a... More

Staff were very rude and and the service was terrible! Do not waste your time or money here. It is in a great location so perhaps this is why it is still open for business!?

We made our way to Taaffes with a local fellow we met across the street in Tig Coili, which was amazing, but just too packed with people to be comfortable. Got into Taaffe's, and were so pleased that we went in! A lot of Irish people in this pub, not just full of tourists and students. We actually made friends... More

We first wandered into Taaffes Pub on our first day in Galway, looking for a bite for lunch. It was quiet and uncrowded, and had a very cozy feel. We ordered sandwiches, which came with more food than I was anticipating, and two Bulmers. They advertised live traditional Irish music nightly, so we went back that night to listen and... More

We stopped into this pub each day while we visited Galway - the live music was as good as it gets in town. Great people, clean pub, great Guinness and traditional irish music. We found our favorite bar in Galway by far.
