We had heard better Irish music, but still enjoyed our time at this pub. We were there in the late afternoon, so we avoided the large crowds that usually inhabit this pub. We enjoyed the authenticity of the Irish atmosphere here, and had a very pleasant time.

Most Galway bars are packed on Saturday night but this place (where I was last night) is very nice - good atmosphere, good pint of Guinness, attentive staff despite being so busy. I would recommend it.

A friendly pub with some excellent Irish music and the atmosphere was immense! However, it did get claustrophobic as it was cramped but I certainly enjoyed it.

Does exactly what it says on the tin! Old Irish trad pub with live music being played quite a lot! The Guinness was lovely there and the whole place had a really good atmosphere!

Had a great couple of pints at this quaint establishment. Great friendly bartenders even though one of us told us that the next place we were planning to visit was a stinkhole, he kindly suggested that we stay in Galway instead. Free Irish music from 5:30 till 7 and then again in the later evening.

Most of the pub Irish music starts at 9:30. So, if you're not into a late night to catch pub music, this is an excellent choice. They have a good selection of beers. If going for the music, expect to stand and be very crunched in among those gathered around the musicians -- as will be the case anywhere that... More

Great bar with buckets of Irish charm coming out the windows. Live Irish music on a Saturday after a stroll at the market. The Guinness is great too. Give it a no, you can't go wrong

Absolutely loved this pub! We started our night out in Galway here and then proceeded on to a few other pubs in the area. After exploring the nearby pubs we chose to return to Tig coili for the fun atmosphere and traditional Irish music. If I am ever fortunate enough to return to Galway I'll definitely be back for a... We were near the end of our two weeks in Ireland, and we were still looking for some authentic Irish music. Then we found Tig Coili in Galway. What a treat! The pub had a group of musicians who played wonderful Irish tunes. Their instruments included fiddles, banjo, accordions, flutes, guitars, and whatever someone happened to bring. It was outstanding.... More

Had a brill night in Tig Coili recently, great pint of stout and the trad band in the corner really belted out the tunes, a fine spot in the heart of Galway city.
