We read about this being the place to go and it is! It gets crowded but that just adds to the fun. The music is great. On the night we were there, it was 7 musicians. One of the women played a small squeeze-box called a concertina, which we had never seen before but loved the sound of. There was... More

If you come to Galway, you HAVE to come here, at least for the photo opp. We didn't stay very long because it was so crowded - we got a drink elsewhere.

Its been 4 years since I've been back to Galway, and many things have changed, fortunately Tigs has not. Its still a great experience, the atmosphere is good, the staff are great and the early doors sessions are legendary. Do yourself a favour and go there, order a Guinness and either watch the session, or sit outside and watch the... More

It's small. It's crowded. It's loud. It's awesome. Lots of locals there, we had a fabulous night talking to a group of them. Great music. It's what you think of an Irish Pub. The people are so friendly, couple of them buying us drinks to try. It was a night we will not forget.

High expectations perhaps. But we came to a crowded pub with live music that could barely be heard only a few meters away due to all the noise (and not playing the live music over any PA system, it seemed?). We soon went elsewhere.

I last visited Tig Coili 11 years ago, and on the most recent trip back with my wife, I was glad to see it hadn't changed a bit (okay, the drinks are pricier now, of course). This is as close to a real Irish music pub as you're likely to get, with the sessions taking place in the large front... More

We lucked into such a fantastic night of music, with plenty of Galway locals - really set the bar for a week in Western Ireland. Craft beer on tap excellent.

This place more than met our expectations for music in Galway. It is listed in all the travel guides but it was filled with locals (which is always something we look for). We got there early to get out of a downpour and got seats at the bar where we could be near the music. We enjoyed waiting cause the... More

What appeared to be a pick-up grouping of mandolin, fiddle, and guitar became amazing music , wonderfully skilled individuals weaving together by the end of each song. A poet (Gerry) led the crowd, and a beautiful Joyce joined the group to sing a few. The stuff of dreams, we couldn't believe our luck. And on a Wednesday eve.

Always go to this pub when I am in Galway, friendly bar staff, nice drink ect., but lately find that the music is not as good as usual. Some times they say there is music on and then there is not, maybe they just do not turn up. Bit the same old faces who never smile when they are playing... More
