This year I went with Hidden Connemara walking tours again. Twice, because it was my favourite tour last year. Again the different day tours were wonderful. Shane told me that he chose different tours for different days which was great, so I got to see more than I expected. On the first tour we walked Diamond Hill and in the... More

We spent two days with Shane walking in Connemara and it was the highlight of our trip to Galway. We were a group of six with three kids ages 11 through 16 and all of us enjoyed ourselves immensely. Shane is a terrific guide, the walks are beautiful and very different from each other. Three of them have a great... More

It is hard to imagine a better person to conduct these tours than Shane Tighe. He is friendly, flexible, attentive, and very knowledgeable. He's got a background in history and geography education, so he's well-equipped to answer questions and provide insight into the scenery through which the tour moves. He made an effort to get to know everyone on the... More

We were recently in Ireland for two weeks, spending the first week between Dublin and Galway before picking up a car. Hidden Connemara offered us a great opportunity to get out into the countryside from Galway without wheels of our own. Our morning walk was to a remote pass where St. Patrick and others said Mass in the days when... More

It was an amazing day and a unique experience, totally different from all the other tours we had. Being a small group allowed us to interact with each other and all this social part probably made the day. Also we did manage to explore some parts of Connemara that would have been impossible by car/bus/ourselves etc. Shane is a great... More

I found Hidden Connemara Walking Tours while researching car free travel opportunities for our trip to Ireland. This was a superb choice. My husband and I both agree the day we spent hiking with Shane in Connemara was, without a doubt, a major highlight of our entire trip to Ireland! I simply cannot express how much we enjoyed this. I... More

We really enjoyed that walk with Shane: the views were outstanding, the history told - rich, and we were really amazed by the quality of the tour. I'd like to mention separately our guide - this is the best guide I had pleasure to go with in years - Shane was very knowledgable about areas we visited, local flora and... More

This is not your usual sight-seeing tour. Instead of looking out a bus window at the scenery, you are immersed in it. We did a tour in early May. Shane has a number of tours and can tailor his itineraries to the weather. Our day was cold and cloudy with intermittent rain, he took us on a somewhat protected forest... More

I did the trip to Connemara National Park with the company and it was just great. Of course, the place helps with the beauty and the nature, but the guide it's very good, helpfull and know everything about the place. It's a big walk, so if you don't want exactly that, maybe it's not the perfect option for you. But... More

We took a day long excursion with Shane in July of 2012. We wanted a great look at the diverse Connemara landscape and man did we get it. Shane was incredibly responsive in the planning stages of our trip and was even so kind as to treat us to a small side trip to Leenane which had sentimental value to... More
