First, I would be remiss if I did not say, these free tour guides could use the money, so please do pay them a reasonable amount based on your ability. That said, we learned so much and got many tips about places to visit later, and our guide did it all with good humor. We met at Eyre Square and... More

By the time we had finished our walking tour of Galway with the Delightful Fiona, my wife and I truly felt like we had found a kindred spirit in wonderful Galway. While its true that the City Centre isn't terribly large, our stay in Galway was far richer for having walked its streets with Fiona and heard her tell so... More

My daughter was an exchange student at Galway University, in May we had a chance to visit Galway city. One of the highlights of this trip was the free walking tour. Our daughter suggested it because of it's reputation with locals, The guides are for the most part students at the university. We met in Eyre Square for a two... More

It is a great way to get a sense of the history of a place. Galway is small enough that you can cover the most important places easily while walking. And being able to interact with your tour guide and linger at spots makes it much better than a bus tour.

I called the phone number on this page around 10pm thinking I was going to get a voice mail with some information about the tour but Fiona answered the call personally! Though Fiona was all booked up in the morning we arranged a tour the next afternoon. Fiona's knowledge of the city was impressive. Her stories also provided activity suggestions... More

There are two types of walking tours in Galway which have seemed to merge into one on this website. The free walking tour is not part of this review, and is started in the Eyre Square. The Professional walking tour starts from the tourist information centre (€10 per person) with Fionna, Gerry, Liam etc is very informative. The pace is... More

My sister and I had a fabulous tour with Fiona in Galway. It was our first day in Ireland and what a welcome and wonderful tour we had! Fiona was very knowledgeable and had lots of juicy stories to tell about early Galway. She had a nice pace and answered all of our many, many questions about Galway and Ireland... More

Neil was an excellent tour guide. It's not a riveting tour, but the history of Galway doesn't have as much murder, mayhem, and misery as the rest of Ireland. A great way to get a feel for this lovely city.

We took the free walking tour that Cole had available and it was great, everything we had hoped for. Our guide was a young man with a great deal of knowledge about Galway and Ireland. He even saw something he had never seen, a fish caught from the river we walked along. Tip him well if you take the tour,... More

As others have said Fiona was punctual and informative. I would recommend booking her on your first day in Galway..even better if you're staying a few days so when you're on your own you almost feel like a local. Among other things, she told us about kicking the wall at the end of the salthill prom. We figured why not.... More
