I stayed here for my first time as a guest as I normally stay with family but on this occasion my business had booked me in. I have met Nora and Martin before so it was refreshing when she threw the 'cúpla focail' (few words in Irish) my way, being a Dub, I struggled but it was a taste of... More

Very friendly owners. Stately farm house. Nice room, good decor and comfortable bed. Great breakfast the next morning. We enjoyed the bonus of the heritage center and learning more about the early history of people in the region. If you are traveling through the area this is a nice place to stay or simply spend a few hours.

Unexpected turn off stop for a very nice interpretive living history site. Watch the film, read the postings and begin to understand early 19th century in western Ireland and the impact of the potato famine on the country. Then enjoy a nice 1/4 mile walk up the lane to the farmhouse or Martin will provide a ride for those not... More

On a wet day in May we pulled into Dan O'Hara's for a cup of tea. We ended up buying a tour of their heritage centre and it was brilliant. The welcome we got from the owners and staff was fantastic and nothing is too much trouble. Well worth a visit.

We were in Clifden and looking at sites to see. We went to the Heritage Museum and took a tour with Martin, who, as other reviewers have written, takes you in a bus pulled by his tractor up 200 metres above Connemara and tells you about the area, the people, history, the mountains, and basically any area you may be... I stayed here as part of a budget holiday but after staying for two nights I came away not thinking I compromised on quality. I was training for a marathon and Paula and Mrs O'Hara could not have been more helpful and nice. Lovely homemade breakfasts and scones etc. So hospitable, welcoming, flexible and sooo west! The people in this... More

A wonderfull Farmhouse, they call it Homestead. Very friendly people, Good food an bed, highly recomendable. Close to Cliffden, Dan himself brings you wth a kind of bus up the mountain where you have vieuws over the bog and the peninsula. Dan tells stories about Irelands historie as real patriot. Stay here at least 3 nights.

The best from 4 B&B I stayed in during my journey. Definitely the best value for money. Spacious rooms (way more space than any of the other ones). They know about the American standards: facecloths are provided (usually not provided in hotels in Europe, but North American find it hard to do without), phone in the room (our cell phones... More

We've probably all gone to big tourist attactions in our lives and found it to be less than we expected. At Dan O'Hara's Homestead Farm my wife and I experienced the exact opposite of that: a small tourist attraction that we found to be far more than we ever expected. Partly that was because the video, the excellent small museum... More
