Spent last Friday and Saturday in the company of Paul Phelan and some friends. We managed 5 of the Maamturks over the two days and had a fantastic time. Paul kept us both busy and amused with many anecdotes and educated us on local geology and botany. He even kept the rain away. His expertise extended beyond the mountains as... More

Yesterday as a group of 8 people we climbed Mweelrea, the largest mountain in the Connemara region located in the west of Ireland. Paul and his mate Pete guided us up and down the mountain and made the day so enjoyable. On the way up Paul told us many different stories about the area and the people that lived there... More

We had a fantastic day out on the mweelrea horseshoe with Paul. He is an expert guide - we hit difficult navigational conditions and he demonstrated his high level of expertise. Wonderful day out. Interesting and informed anecdotes, history, geology, geography and intimate knowlegde of the beautiful and and unique Connemara landscape.

Walk Connemara hosted a return trip for our small group this weekend, a follow-up to our great Inisbofin trip last year. Our 2 coastal walks brought us down lush leafy lanes, over headlands and along beautiful white sandy beaches. The weather was sunny and warm so time was made for swimming breaks. Along the way we learned of megalithic tombs,... More

We did the Diamond Hill walk with Paul as part of our 25th anniversary celebrations. He not only guided us to the top through rain and fog but shared lots of points of interest along the way. Highly recommended.

Lot of thanks to Paul Phelan with who I climbed up Benchoa and Twelve Bens. The landscapes are so beautiful. Paul Phelan is a very experimented guide. He learned me how to enjoy walking with pools. Before starting, the walk was a bit uncertain because of the wind wich might become very dangerous at the summits. But at the end... More

I've been looking up at Connacht's highest mountain for years but always felt It was a bit daunting. Finally got my chance this month with 2 friends, perfect weather and the able guidance of Paul Phelan from Walk Connemara. Based near Clifden, we were planning to go the "easy" way up from the west side, which entails a long drive... More

My wife and I attended the Walk Connemara guided walks as part fo the Inisbofin Walking Festival. The walks were varied, well planned and excellently hosted by Paul Phelan, the principal of Walk Connemara. The Sunset walk brought us to the outer western fringes of the island as the sun began to set. En route we got local natural and archaeological... More
