The two hour Irish music & Irish dancing show (which takes place nightly at the pub) has been awarded "Best Dinner/Entertainment Event in Ireland" and the pub is the current "Music Pub of the Year” in Ireland. Owners and musicians, The Merry Ploughboys, have been performing together for 22 years making their show the longest running show in Ireland hosted continuously by the same performers. The pub is located about 20 minutes south of Dublin City centre with complimentary car parking. It is easily accessed by taxi or if you are staying in the city centre we recommend our shuttle transfer service (just 5.50 euro return fare). The transfer by luxury executive coach offers an elevated view of the scenic Southside of Dublin city. After the show, the coach will drop you back as close as practical to your accommodation. Reservations are essential, however online bookings for the dinner & show (and shuttle transfer if required) can be made in real-time on our own website. We operate a "ticketless" booking system. You will receive a unique booking reference number on your email receipt and our floor manager will have all your details when you arrive at the pub. « less

This is one that lived up to its reviews. The service, entertainment and atmosphere were all that we had hoped forl The Ploughboys' stage presence and talent had us mesmorized while the dancers a perfect interlude. We would have gone a second time if we were staying another week. Don't miss this. It was the number one attraction we have... More

Our family was touring Ireland and wanted to attend a good Irish Dinner Show. We all agreed this to be the best choice, and it was. We found everything was excellent which includes; internet reservations, food service, Irish music and dance, and especially the friendliness of the entire staff. If we had more time, probably would have made a return... More

Over from Edinburgh for the weekend and visited the Merry Ploughboy on Saturday night, the food was excellent, friendly and efficient staff and the pub just had an amazing atmosphere. Live music in the bar downstairs and bus loads of people in for the Merry Ploughboy gig upstairs. Great to have excellent live music topped of by the lads playing... More

I want to thank the Merry Ploughboys for a wonderful meal, wonderful music and a wonderful time. There must have been 4 tour busses in that night and you sang Happy Birthday to my mom and played that lovely tune for the gentleman! I was so glad to have had a moment to talk with you, Donal and Liam. I... More

What can I say about The Merry Ploughboy Irish Music Club...."Brilliant" I grew up listening to Irish music, a music my mother truly loved, and boy could she dance too. So, my visit to The Merry Ploughboy was so amazing. I bought three CD's to bring home with me to the States just so I could continue to tap into... More

This Pub was booked as part of a CIE Tour and was outstanding! This was our first trip to Ireland so we were going along with tour as the itinerary was planned. This Pub met and exceeded our expectations. We were traveling with our son who was 10 and he had a great time as well! The food and drink... More

Thank goodness we booked this show. It was great. So what if you're not sitting next to your partner it can be a good way to get a "blether" with other folk but once the music and dancing starts it's too loud to talk to each other anyway. As for the food - I had the goats cheese starter followed... More

Took my partner here for her birthday. Firstly I would strongly recommend using the buses that are laid on as the cost of a taxi is incredibly expensive. Having made the mistake of booking a taxi we got to the pub fairly early so had a drink in the downstairs bar which was really nice and, just like the rest... More
