The two hour Irish music & Irish dancing show (which takes place nightly at the pub) has been awarded "Best Dinner/Entertainment Event in Ireland" and the pub is the current "Music Pub of the Year” in Ireland. Owners and musicians, The Merry Ploughboys, have been performing together for 22 years making their show the longest running show in Ireland hosted continuously by the same performers. The pub is located about 20 minutes south of Dublin City centre with complimentary car parking. It is easily accessed by taxi or if you are staying in the city centre we recommend our shuttle transfer service (just 5.50 euro return fare). The transfer by luxury executive coach offers an elevated view of the scenic Southside of Dublin city. After the show, the coach will drop you back as close as practical to your accommodation. Reservations are essential, however online bookings for the dinner & show (and shuttle transfer if required) can be made in real-time on our own website. We operate a "ticketless" booking system. You will receive a unique booking reference number on your email receipt and our floor manager will have all your details when you arrive at the pub. « less

Was on a tour of Ireland and stopped here first night. Atmosphere was nice as was the show but dont like when the audience is made to come on stage. Many people suffer anxiety and this made it a bit uncomfortable for me. I do suffer from sciatica so I couldnt join even if I wasnt intimidated. Food was good... More

My mother (64), daughter (15) and I (46) visited the Merry Ploughboy Irish Music Pub in August. We had a wonderful time. In fact, we were in Ireland for 9 days and the entertainment at this Pub was by far our favorite. The musicians were great and the night was filled with a lot of singing, laughter, and fun. A... Great night..atmosphere, food and entertainment was FANTASTIC! I have been to Ireland many times and this trip was my first time to Merry Ploughboy Pub. Food was traditional pub food and plenty of it, service was exceptional and the entertainment was traditional Irish music and Irish dancing. They were engaging with the audience making it fun for all. My mother... More

We visited The Merry Ploughboy Irish Music Pub tonight and had a wonderful time. The entertainment was wonderful and the food delicious. They go out of their way to make everything enjoyable. I advise to go hungry, as portions are large and tasty. At the end of the night, they called a taxi for us, and made sure we were... More

We went to the Merry Ploughboy which is on the outskirts of Dublin for a evening of food and song and dancing. The food is traditional pub fare with seafood chowder which was hearty fare as well as lamb shanks which were slow braised and fall off the bone tender. The food is secondary to the music which on the... More

This was included in our CIE bus tour of Ireland, they like to take you to places like castles most of the time, so it was a nice change to go to a real restaurant and pub for dinner and a show. The musicians were really good, playing authentic Irish music, drinking their Guinness in cup holders attached to their... More

Well worth a visit. Seafood chowder was amazing. Really good night made better by the shuttle bus service at a very reasonable price.

This was a great place to spend one of our first evenings in Dublin. A bus takes you slightly outside the city for a delicious dinner which is followed by the show. The musicians and Irish dancers are all talented, and we fell in love with the music and the heartfelt love of country that the performers put into their... More

The owners are also the musicians. Their music gets into your soul from the start. Everything is authentic and reasonably priced for hours of solid entertainment. Dinner was delicious. It was a family friendly show. The young dancers were exceptional as the band took a short break. After the show the band sits and visits making everyone feel very welcome.... More

Our tour group visited this pub on our first night in Ireland. We were all certain it would be very 'touristy' but were very surprised at the quality of the meal and how entertaining the band was. My husband especially liked the seafood chowder, and this is where we developed our constant craving for Irish Brown Bread. The salmon was... More
