Description: The Merry Ploughboy is the only pub in Ireland owned and managed by...
The Merry Ploughboy is the only pub in Ireland owned and managed by musicians, and it is the 'hands on' approach from the owners that makes a visit to the Merry Ploughboy the highlight of many people's trip to Ireland. The two hour Irish music & Irish dancing show (which takes place nightly at the pub) has been awarded "Best Dinner/Entertainment Event in Ireland" and the pub is the current "Music Pub of the Year” in Ireland. Owners and musicians, The Merry Ploughboys, have been performing together for 22 years making their show the longest running show in Ireland hosted continuously by the same performers. The pub is located about 20 minutes south of Dublin City centre with complimentary car parking. It is easily accessed by taxi or if you are staying in the city centre we recommend our shuttle transfer service (just 5.50 euro return fare). The transfer by luxury executive coach offers an elevated view of the scenic Southside of Dublin city. After the show, the coach will drop you back as close as practical to your accommodation. Reservations are essential, however online bookings for the dinner & show (and shuttle transfer if required) can be made in real-time on our own website. We operate a "ticketless" booking system. You will receive a unique booking reference number on your email receipt and our floor manager will have all your details when you arrive at the pub.

We came to Ireland knowing that we wanted to hear traditional music. The Merry Ploughboy certainly gave us that. The musicians were all extremely talented; the dancers were very good, as well. We took advantage of the transportation service offered; the pickup was flawless, and on the return trip, the driver took us directly to our guest house.

There is often a big difference between seeing and experiencing Ireland. If you want to experience the best that Ireland has to offer, in my opinion, take in a truly great night of Irish hospitality, food, music and craic that will leave you wanting more. The Merry Ploughboy Pub is the stage for what was one of the best nights... More

I was so privileged to get the chance to be here. My work took us here as part of a Dublin trip and I had a blast. Food was delicious and it was one of the best atmospheres I've ever experienced. The views of the fields were beautiful driving up to it, there were funny and talented iris singers/dancers and... More

The food and service were excellent. The entertainment was great but the sound system let them down; it was difficult to interpret the words ...... very surprising given the success of the venue and the long time to get it right.

If you have the privilege of visiting this amazing country and city of Dublin this is a must see event. Phenomenal food followed by an even better show. Band was fantastic, Liam and Tom got the entire crowd involved. Not sure what it is but the sound of the Uilleann pipes playing stirs something deep in your soul, amazing experience,... More

My friends and I took a whirlwind holiday to Dublin and tried to fit in as many memorable experiences as possible! We read about The Merry Ploughboys pub and decided it was perfect for our trip so we booked it. We were shuttled over from our hotel, the cab driver was hilarious and happened to be one of the brothers... More

Couldn't recommend this venue and night out highly enough. Friendly atmosphere. Great food and service and the band and dancers superb. Humming the tunes on the way home. Suitable for all events, birthdays, anniversaries, family get togethers and of course when friends are visiting from abroad, this is the perfect Irish night. *****
