The two hour Irish music & Irish dancing show (which takes place nightly at the pub) has been awarded "Best Dinner/Entertainment Event in Ireland" and the pub is the current "Music Pub of the Year” in Ireland. Owners and musicians, The Merry Ploughboys, have been performing together for 22 years making their show the longest running show in Ireland hosted continuously by the same performers. The pub is located about 20 minutes south of Dublin City centre with complimentary car parking. It is easily accessed by taxi or if you are staying in the city centre we recommend our shuttle transfer service (just 5.50 euro return fare). The transfer by luxury executive coach offers an elevated view of the scenic Southside of Dublin city. After the show, the coach will drop you back as close as practical to your accommodation. Reservations are essential, however online bookings for the dinner & show (and shuttle transfer if required) can be made in real-time on our own website. We operate a "ticketless" booking system. You will receive a unique booking reference number on your email receipt and our floor manager will have all your details when you arrive at the pub. « less

This is a nice pub out near the base of the Wicklow mountains. We opted to include the taxi pick up service for an extra charge. This was a good value. The 3 course dinner was surprising good and hot serving 100s of people. Our servers were efficient and friendly. The venue was way too hot and stuffy. I guess... More

Dear reviewer, thanks for your positive feedback about the music and food. We were disappointed to hear that anything would have taken away from your overall experience of the night with us. It is quite unusual that an audience continue to chat during the performance or obstruct other peoples view. The group in question were non-english speaking and we would... More

We had a great time at the Merry Ploughboy dinner show. We were pleasantly surprised at how good the food was here. The show itself was wonderful and the service was excellent.

Wonderful overall Irish experience. The music was the best part - talented musicians playing a great mix of songs. Gotta love microphone stands with drink holders to keep their pints of Guinness handy! The pub is outside of Dublin a bit, so when we booked our tickets we also booked the transportation since we did not have a rental car.... More

Although the price may seem a bit high for dinner and a show, it but it really isn't given the quality of the food and this is definitely the best place to go for an evening of Irish music, dance and humor. It is pretty dang hard not to have a smile on your face when you leave. If you... More

This was a very pleasant surprise. We had spent a few nights at various pubs in Temple Bar listening to music and wondered whether this would be as good. It turned out to be a lot of fun. The target audience seemed to be tour groups and there were at least 200 people in the audience. From the very start,... More

The place was full on our night, takes 200 they say. Food was very good, as was the service. Waiters and Waitresses are soon near you to order more drinks. Water is supplied on the table free of charge and frequently replenished on request. We arrived on a coach with a Diamond Holidays tour after a drive down narrowing lanes... More

Food was ok, service is frenzied. They are on tight timeline to get everyone fed and get dishes cleared. Entertainment is spot-on wonderful! The music, dancing, and environment were wonderful! We arranged for transportation and Barry picked us up at our hotel and took us back. He was so much fun and made this experience even more fun than it... More

Our travel agent highly recommended that my husband I dine and experience the Irish dance and music at The Merry Ploughboys. My husband and I now highly recommend that anyone visiting Dublin make reservations and experience a night at The Merry Ploughboys. We made our reservations online along with the option of a coach service that picked us up at... More

Our company planned an evening here for about 100 people. The atmosphere was very authentic Irish as was the music and food. We had a choice of four entrees and all the food was delivered hot and with quality. The musicians were very engaging.
