The two hour Irish music & Irish dancing show (which takes place nightly at the pub) has been awarded "Best Dinner/Entertainment Event in Ireland" and the pub is the current "Music Pub of the Year” in Ireland. Owners and musicians, The Merry Ploughboys, have been performing together for 22 years making their show the longest running show in Ireland hosted continuously by the same performers. The pub is located about 20 minutes south of Dublin City centre with complimentary car parking. It is easily accessed by taxi or if you are staying in the city centre we recommend our shuttle transfer service (just 5.50 euro return fare). The transfer by luxury executive coach offers an elevated view of the scenic Southside of Dublin city. After the show, the coach will drop you back as close as practical to your accommodation. Reservations are essential, however online bookings for the dinner & show (and shuttle transfer if required) can be made in real-time on our own website. We operate a "ticketless" booking system. You will receive a unique booking reference number on your email receipt and our floor manager will have all your details when you arrive at the pub. « less

Although it's staged to be like an authentic Irish pub, it's specifically designed to handle a throng of tourists. In spite of that, the food was good and the music and dancing were very enjoyable. Just leave your inhibitions at the door and have a good time! More

We thought the food was outstanding and so very filling. Just a note that the price of dinner and show do not include any alcoholic drinks. The show was 2 hours long, and such a wonderful experience. The music is traditional Irish folk music, so very fun to listen too, and at times the show is even interactive! We also... More

We made a visit to The Merry Ploughboy our second night in Ireland and just loved it! The band was really talented and very entertaining. The Irish dancing was questionable... much more Riverdance than traditional. And as far as the dancers being World Champions...? We were expecting a lot higher quality. My daughter and I were in Ireland for her... More

Great food drink and lively floor show. What a way to see a bit of Irish culture. If the city is proving too close to home and you want a bit of old Ireland without heading west then this is the best bet! More

yes, the pub is filled with tourists, but the band (the merry ploughboys) were very good - they are great musicians and very entertaining (there is also a small segment of irish dancing). the food is fair, but you're not there for the food. More
