The two hour Irish music & Irish dancing show (which takes place nightly at the pub) has been awarded "Best Dinner/Entertainment Event in Ireland" and the pub is the current "Music Pub of the Year” in Ireland. Owners and musicians, The Merry Ploughboys, have been performing together for 22 years making their show the longest running show in Ireland hosted continuously by the same performers. The pub is located about 20 minutes south of Dublin City centre with complimentary car parking. It is easily accessed by taxi or if you are staying in the city centre we recommend our shuttle transfer service (just 5.50 euro return fare). The transfer by luxury executive coach offers an elevated view of the scenic Southside of Dublin city. After the show, the coach will drop you back as close as practical to your accommodation. Reservations are essential, however online bookings for the dinner & show (and shuttle transfer if required) can be made in real-time on our own website. We operate a "ticketless" booking system. You will receive a unique booking reference number on your email receipt and our floor manager will have all your details when you arrive at the pub. « less

Well worth a visit. Seafood chowder was amazing. Really good night made better by the shuttle bus service at a very reasonable price.

This was a great place to spend one of our first evenings in Dublin. A bus takes you slightly outside the city for a delicious dinner which is followed by the show. The musicians and Irish dancers are all talented, and we fell in love with the music and the heartfelt love of country that the performers put into their... More

The owners are also the musicians. Their music gets into your soul from the start. Everything is authentic and reasonably priced for hours of solid entertainment. Dinner was delicious. It was a family friendly show. The young dancers were exceptional as the band took a short break. After the show the band sits and visits making everyone feel very welcome.... More

Our tour group visited this pub on our first night in Ireland. We were all certain it would be very 'touristy' but were very surprised at the quality of the meal and how entertaining the band was. My husband especially liked the seafood chowder, and this is where we developed our constant craving for Irish Brown Bread. The salmon was... More

This venue is typical of dinner & performance reviews. Long tables where a set menu is provided before the music begins. It's extremely well-organized to feed you and have you ready for the music quickly. The food wasn't bad but more on the order of serving a large wedding. Beer and wine acceptable but not exceptional. Shuttle bus pick up,... More

This was a very fun evening for our last night in Dublin. I don't usually care for cheesy dinner shows, but this evening was amazing. The food was very good (I had the Irish stew), and the service was well organized. Most impressive were the musicians, who were incredibly talented. They were so good that I bought their CD, which... Great show and surprisingly good food makes this a good intro to Dublin and Ireland. Talented and sociable musicians get the whole place clapping and singing- top the night off with an excellent Irish coffee..

This was a great dinner show! The band played traditional Irish music for more than an hour. They shared a brief history about each song and included the audience often. During breaks, traditional Irish dancers put on a very good show. There is also a full bar available and a complimentary cup of Irish coffee at the end of the... More

This is a nice pub out near the base of the Wicklow mountains. We opted to include the taxi pick up service for an extra charge. This was a good value. The 3 course dinner was surprising good and hot serving 100s of people. Our servers were efficient and friendly. The venue was way too hot and stuffy. I guess... More

Dear reviewer, thanks for your positive feedback about the music and food. We were disappointed to hear that anything would have taken away from your overall experience of the night with us. It is quite unusual that an audience continue to chat during the performance or obstruct other peoples view. The group in question were non-english speaking and we would... More

We had a great time at the Merry Ploughboy dinner show. We were pleasantly surprised at how good the food was here. The show itself was wonderful and the service was excellent.
