The two hour Irish music & Irish dancing show (which takes place nightly at the pub) has been awarded "Best Dinner/Entertainment Event in Ireland" and the pub is the current "Music Pub of the Year” in Ireland. Owners and musicians, The Merry Ploughboys, have been performing together for 22 years making their show the longest running show in Ireland hosted continuously by the same performers. The pub is located about 20 minutes south of Dublin City centre with complimentary car parking. It is easily accessed by taxi or if you are staying in the city centre we recommend our shuttle transfer service (just 5.50 euro return fare). The transfer by luxury executive coach offers an elevated view of the scenic Southside of Dublin city. After the show, the coach will drop you back as close as practical to your accommodation. Reservations are essential, however online bookings for the dinner & show (and shuttle transfer if required) can be made in real-time on our own website. We operate a "ticketless" booking system. You will receive a unique booking reference number on your email receipt and our floor manager will have all your details when you arrive at the pub. « less

Went with a CIE tour group. Fantastic musicians and incredible step dancing. We were all sooo impressed. I would highly recommend a night of "crack" at this place. Was a perfect intro to Ireland for me.

Such great music and banter, when I went for the meal, music and dance and I got it in spades. The musicians are excellent, truly excellent. People there are in good spirits, you can turn around and talk to anyone, as every one is merry and up for conversation. Food is Irish traditional and the staff welcome you like you... More

Just came back from the Merry Ploughboy Pub in Dublin, Ireland, it was so much fun! The food was excellent, from the seafood soup to the Angus beef entree thru to the apple pie desert. The entertainment was top notch, you can see the musicians love their music, and the dancers are wonderful. If you want a truly enjoyable and... More

I went to the Merry Ploughboy last night and enjoyed a nice night of food, drink, dancing and singing. The food was beautiful, I cannot fault it! All the courses were perfect, particularly the lamb shanks. The drinks were a little on the expensive side, but were again very good. The Irish coffee was phenomenal, I could drink it every... More

Myself and a group of work colleagues went to the Merry Ploughboy last Thursday evening for a tast of Dublin. It is short ways outside of the city, but well worth leaving the Temple Bar area. The food was fantastic; I highly recommend the Beef Stew! And the music and dancing were first rate. In addtion, there were choirs in... More

Saturday March 1, 2014, we enjoyed a wonderful performance by the Merry Ploughboys at St. Ignatius Church Hall in Hickory, MD. The Ploughboys put on a great show and did not need fireworks or laser light shows to enhance their talent. They did beautiful Irish music: well performed! They had excellent audience participation and related the music to their Irish... More

Myself and a group of 40 work colleagues enjoyed a fantastic night at the Merryploughboy last weekend. We were picked up by coach from our office premises in city centre and dropped off in city centre later on afterwards without a hitch (all inclusive). The show, service and food where excellent, couldn’t fault it, from audience involvement by the band... More

We were in Dublin for the Ireland/Wales rugby game and I wanted to organise a night out for 8 of us. I booked well in advance but one of our guys took ill and was not not able to make it on the trip. No problem. The staff refunded his ticket and organised transport on the day. The food was... More

Our group of 31 pilgrims wrapped up our 9-day Ireland and Northern Ireland journey in the Footsteps of Saint Patrick with a fun, festive feast with great food, music and dancing! Donal and his clan put on a great show where the craic is quite mighty. Look forward to a return trip back to The Merry Ploughboy Pub real soon!

We were recommended to the Merry Ploughboy Irish Music Pub by friends that live in Ireland. The tickets are pricey but it's worth it. We were picked up/dropped off by the scheduled transportation in Dublin. The seating is somewhat family style and gives you the opportunity to meet people from around the world. The food was excellent and show was... More
