The Book of Kells is nice and was the reason for us to visit, actually, but when we moved to Long Room, we wanted to stay there forever and ever, and forever once more - fantastic! All those old books - amazing, the smell, the view, absolutely gorgeous!

We followed advice of friends to visit the Trinity College/Book of Kells early on Sunday morning. We had about a 30 minute wait to get into the library, which allowed my husband to photograph the outdoor artwork elsewhere on the campus. The photos of the library Long Room don't prepare you for the sensual experience inside. The smell of the... More

While the Book of Kells is interesting, the entire College is what we came to see. Our Tour Guide ( Student at Trinity) was charming and delightful. The line was a little long to get into the Library, but worth every minute. I'm book person, so just the smell of the Long Room was amazing. The Gift Shop is one... More

I loved the architecture, the thousands of books, the busts and the exhibitions. I also enjoyed walking around the historic campus of Trinity college.

The Book of Kells is the main attraction, but I found the library room upstairs from the exhibit to be the best part. Just a very beautiful spot.

Well worth the long line outside! Size and scope of the library was surprising. Went mid-day and the afternoon light provided wonderful setting for pictures

First tip - go early. When we were in Dublin the place with the Book of Kells and the Library opened at 9:30. We joined the queue by 9:15 behind about 100 other people and by opening time this had grown so about another 200-300 were behind us. Having said that we only waited about 25 minutes to get in... An eye-opener and an historical landmark! Can't take photos inside, though, because of the rare books.
