My husband, 2 millenial daughters and 85year old+ father all are still raving over the time we got to spend on this walking tour with our guide Shane Menna. It was a highlight of our week in Dublin.Shane is one of the most knowledgeable, articulate and affable individuals you can possibly imagine. He had us all captivated from the very... More

This recent trip to Ireland was my first trip ever to the Emerald Isle. For the two days I had available to tour Dublin, I was certain to make sure the 1916 Rebellion Tour was on my itinerary. My interest stemmed from wanting to know more about that seminal period in Irish history and to stand in the very places... More

My Irish wife and I flew in to Dublin from Cardiff for the 2015 Marathon and took in a few of the many attractions Dublin has to offer over the long weekend. We both have an interest in history and booked the 1916 Rebellion walking tour. This, for me, was the highlight of the weekend. Lorcan Collins, your guide, welcomed... More

Having a gap in our knowledge of Irish history we decided we should take this tour in advance of the centenary commemorations in 2016. Well worth it, even if you know nothing about this major turning point in our country's history. The introductory talk in the basement of the International Bar puts the events in context, and the tour itself... More

Tour guide Lorcan is a historian and his fascination with this watershed moment in Irish history is infectious. With the 100th anniversary approaching, I strongly recommend this tour to anyone with even a passing interest in Irish history (the more you know beforehand, the more you'll get out of the tour). Lorcan is not only smart but extremely funny as... More

This tour should be everyone's first experience of Dublin! It will highlight every reason you came to Dublin...Irish history, tragedy, literature, humor, storytelling, & yes, it even begins in the historic International pub! If you don't know the story of the 1916 Rebellion, Mr. Lorcan Collins is the man to educate you. If you are familiar, Mr. Collins brings the... More

On the positive side, the presentation is lively and comedic with a certain risqué element. However, the accuracy of the history imparted is seriously inaccurate and misleading and appears to favour some political bias of the tour guide rather the accepted interpretation of the period. Avoid unless you favour theatricality over historical accuracy.

The 1926 Walking at our of Dublin is a real treat. A freebie with the 2 day hop on - hop off bus tour (red bus - there is also green and yellow offering similar but not the same) it leaves from the red visitor centre in O'Connell St at 12pm. Come prepared for wet weather - although it was... More

A fascinating tour through Ireland's recent past, told with passion and humour by someone who cares and really knows his onions. You will rarely spend a more enjoyable and enlightening two hours. Parallels with modern day events are striking.

Had a great afternoon with the 1916 Rising walking tour. Lorcan Collins was authentic, animated and passionate when describing the people and activities of the Rising. I only wish I had taken the tour when I first arrived in Dublin. Take the tour, go to the Gaol, and finally to Glasnevin.
