Great tour delivered with passion and knowledge. We finished our 2hours with a wonderful insight into the 1916 rebellion and some of the events that led there. Lorcan has great passion for the subject and and a huge depth of knowledge.

Lorcan, the guide - though perhaps "host" is a better description - took us effortlessly, enthusiastically, and in turn passionately and irreverently, through the key points of the Rising. In one sense the city was simply a backdrop to his narrative which occupied centre stage. Highly knowledgeable about his subject (he's written a general book on the Rising and one... More

My wife and I took this tour with guide Shane MacThomais last week (Sep 2014) and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Shane had a group of about a dozen to shepherd around, and did so very skillfully. It is obvious Shane is intimately knowledgeable and has a very good grasp of the material. However, what impressed me most was the process... More

The tour was great. Lorcan knew so much information about the topic and was incredibly well-rehearsed without sounding robotic. Before the beginning of the tour we were given papers to read about the Rising, so even the most uninformed person knew a lot by the end. Lorcan was so welcoming and energetic, it was impossible to resist the tour. Student... More

Lorcan's 1916 tour was a surprise and delight. As a Dubliner who left when she was seventeen it was an emotional and passionate two hours with Lorcan's telling of the 1916 Rebellion. He moved me from tears to laughter and compassion about our history. It was just over two hours of delight and the high spot of a five day... More

This is one of the most interesting and informative tours I have ever done by the charming, erudite and witty Lorcan. Do not miss this tour. A local told us to do this tour and we shall be eternally grateful to him.

Lorcan is passionate and erudite throughout the 2 hour walking tour of major locations relevant to the 1916 Easter Rising, providing context for one of the great revolutionary moments in modern history. Start with a pint at the International Bar and off you go!

Spent the most enjoyable 2 hrs in Dublin City centre in years. As a Dubliner, we all too often miss the history that surrounds us. We met Lorcan at the International Bar on Wicklow Street where he began with a potted history of the struggle for Independence events over the past two centuries. After this entertaining and informative starter we... More

We opted to do this walking tour on our last day in Ireland as we had a brief introduction to the characters in the rebellion while visiting the Kilmainham Gaol. The tour was very informative and thoroughly entertaining. Lorcan is passionate about this segment of Ireland's history and we loved some of the side commentary about contemporary politics both in... Lorcan is a very informative tour guide, who can manage to talk above the ambient city noise. Well worth the money.
