Enjoyable. Do it. It helps if you have some idea of what happened. Too much emphasis on the sniper story. Great coverage of the Moore St. happenings. They should have visited some of the other sites; City Hall and College of Surgeons.

We enjoyed a thoroughly informative, interesting and entertaining tour on Saturday a.m. with our very knowledgeable guide Lorcan Collins, who has a great bit of humour about him. We were all very pleased that we did the tour and we all learnt a lot and feel that we understand the circumstances leading to the 'rising' far better than before, plus... More

While I love history in general, I can't say I knew a lot about the 1916 Easter Rebellion before I took this tour. If you're in the same boat, don't worry - the guide is extremely knowledgeable and will explain the entire history of the fight for Irish independence. You even get a handout to read while waiting for the... More

This was my second time joining Lorcan on his amazing tour around the sights of the 1916 rebellion. As a history teacher with 15 years experience, I can attest to Lorcan's forensic knowledge of that amazing time in Ireland's history. I came away from both tours with a greater understanding of the rising and really enjoyed the many informative and... More

I, having limited detailed knowledge of the 1916 Rising, cannot attest to the balance or accuracy of Lorcan Collins' information. However, he is extremely interesting, funny and warm. The walk is easy with stops at significant points in time with the events. He offers so much information that one will want to investigate further with independent reading. It was a... More

This was OK I'd say. The guide gave a potted background to the rising and while of course it was a rising against British rule and necessitated filling us in on Normans, Tudors, Cromwell etc, you could feel a bias from him. I would have preferred not only a stated impartiality but also a feeling of impartiality. The walk was... More

I loved this tour! It was a great way to learn about the city and the rebellion. I loved the passion of our guide, but my critique would be that he assumed we had a working knowledge of the area and seemed to get bogged down giving us tactical details. Dress warmly as this tour is 2 hours long outside.

I have been on walking tours in many places but this one was the best. After meeting we gathered in a small area of the bar for an introductory talk which put the Rising into national and international perspective. Our guide, Liam, was extremely well informed and his passion for this period of Irish history very evident. If you are... More
