This is a must for both Irish people and tourists. Excellent recount of Ireland's fight for freedom by such an interesting tour guide Padraig who certainly knows his stuff!!! I was never a history lover but wow has he changed my mind...his passion has made me want to learn more about the heroes of our Irish past. We had walked... More

This walking tour is well worth a visit and for €12 for three hours you really cannot go wrong. As mentioned in previous reviews the guide we had was Nationalistic but then again this is a 1916 tour and he was in no way racist and no one in the group was offended particularly not the many English visitors that... The 1916 Rebellion walking tour was a great way to learn about significant events in Irish history. A small group of us gathered at the International Bar in Wicklow Street, where we were met by historian and author Lorcan Collins. He's a witty, clever man who entertained as much as he informed. After a brief introduction we took to the... More

We walked by the International Bar and decided to take a chance on the 1916 walking tour. It was great! We started with a 10 mins explanation of the 1916 rising before taking off for a 2 hours walking tour around Dublin. Lorcan is very knowledgeable and very nice to answer all the questions that you might have! It was... More

My partner booked a surprise birthday weekend away for me/us to Dublin. Neither of us had been before so on arrival we decided to go on a bus tour which was good. However, the next day we decided to try this walking tour having picked up a leaflet from the Information Centre. And aren't we glad we did! The guy... More

Loran is so entertaining and informative that the 90 minutes of our walking tour passed in no time. We had a group of 42 young people between 14 and 18 with us and they were enthralled, asking loads of interesting questions. This is something you shouldn't miss in Dublin.

This tour was a great experience. It brought the human side of the struggle in 1916 to life. Lorcan is an excellent guide, friendly, informative, funny and incredibly knowledgeable. We were impressed and can only recommend this tour. Questions were encouraged and dots were joined.

Born and lived in Dublin all my life and knew a little about the history involved. But Lorcan's tour made me want to learn more. Had walked past some buildings and statues thousands of times and didn't know the history involved. Would recommend this tour for native Dubliners as well as visitors.
