We took this tour yesterday (31st August) and it was absolutely brilliant! It was great to take a tour with a guide who so clearly had such a passion for his subject. Lorcan was knowledgable, entertaining and had a wonderfully Irish, scatter-gun, storytelling style! He also called the whole group 'lads' throughout the tour! We would highly recommend this tour.

This is an extremely informative tour. The guide, Lorcan, is very knowlegeable but far from dry. His quick humour and ready wit made the tour enjoyable whilst not avoiding the terrible things that happened. He brought the history alive, and with lightning character sketches involved us with the protagonists. He drew our attention to a lot of small details we... More

Being from Dublin, it was lovely to get an insight in to the city landmarks and heroes of 1916. Everyday places that I walk past regularly have a lot more context. It sets the scene of the economic and social background and then the fateful week of Easter 1916. I highly recommend this tour.

This was an excellent walking tour to go on that gives you great and brief history of the 1916 Rebellion in Dublin. Our guide, Lorcan, was incredibly friendly, funny and really knowledgable. Walking around the city and visiting the different places of interest was really brilliant. I really think the walking aspect of the tour is the highlight. I would... More

I have a cottage on the West Coast of Ireland, and have a fair amount of knowledge about the Easter Rising. I have always wanted to do this tour. Did it last weeks and found it extremely entertaining and informative. Most Americans don't have a good understanding of the rebellion or the civil war. Lorcan Collins did an excellent job... More

I attended the walking tour led by the brilliant and entertaining Lorcan Collins. Met in international bar on wicklow st, friendly and a real quality dublin pub. we had a short intro to the period of irish history 1914-23. Lorcan brought the past and married it to the present making them bought relevant. What was also great was that the... More

This walk really does bring to life one of the key events of world history. I usually avoid this sort of thing which I associate with groups of middle aged people traipsing obediently and a bit vacantly behind a bored leader with an umbrella or a flag on a stick who then trots out a load of "it is believed... 2 hour trip back in history to 1916. Not only is Lorcan a wealth of knowledge... he is humorous and engaging. His tour needs to be on your list of "must do" when in Dublin! Can't wait to tour with him again!

I'm a Dubliner living here and went on the tour out of interest in the subject. Lorcan is incredibly knowledgeable on the subject and a gas bit of craic too. Fair play!
