Colm Quilligan's "Dublin Literary Pub Crawl" was the highlight of my visit to Dublin in May with my sister. It sparked a great interest in the literature & the lives of these talented Irish authors. His book is very concise with facts & anecdotes of the people & pubs that make Dublin so much more than "just another city". I... more

When I think pub crawl, I think of FREE DRINKS! Instead, we were taken to several pubs where we got to pay for our drinks. Sure, the literary part was interesting, as was the historical part, but after shelling out €13 each (for some reason they charged more for paying online), we expected more-- much more! This tour is interesting... more

This was a great experience. Went at a Sunday, noon, but drinking still available if you wish! Tour includes song, drama and lots of information for literature types-- and if you aren't that literary, you will still enjoy! more

I went on the Historical walking tours (thoroughly recommended) & they offered a discount to this attraction. I was expecting a Bohemian, artistic tour of the city & in some ways this is what it delivered. Refreshingly though, I found the tour was accessible on many levels as it had that element missing from so many attractions: Humour. The tour... more

The literary pub crawl had to be the most enjoyable aspect of my trip to Dublin. Our guides/presenters/historians/and soon-to-be friends shared Dublin history, culture, and pathos with us in a convivial atmosphere, where we rubbed elbows with the ghosts of Joyce, Behan, Beckett, and Wilde. We traipsed across cobblestone courtyards, and through crowded pubs, and grimy back alleys; always anticipating... more

This has to be the best way to find out about irish literature. Our two "guides" laid on a show second to none and the entertainment for the evening was superb. more

Early talk about this tour was that if you only had a few days in Dublin, this could be lower on the to-do list. I disagree. For anyone who is an avid reader- even if not of Irish authors- I think this is a must do. Two actors take you through passages from famous Irish works, stopping off at Trinity... more

I cannot recommend this tour enough. The actors are excellent and very knowledgable. EVen if you aren't a major writing buff, it's entertaining enough that you'll have fun. Plus the format allows you to get to know some other fellow travelers as well. By the end of the night I felt like I had many new friends. Just an outstanding... more

is by taking the literary pub crawl. A blend of history and comedy with a dash of singing thrown in for good measure. The 4 of us ages 17-70 did this tour on our first evening in Dublin and it was a good orientation to the city plus a walk around on a mild sunny evening in June was ideal... more

I had a hard time finding the starting pub meeting place for this (but I got lost a lot in Dublin!) but I was glad I perservered--it was right up my alley. I had been racing around Dublin seeing everything since 9 that morning and this was a good way to cap the night. I am a literary type, but... more
