We went with John Gibney on a Sunday. The weather was nice and we had a good time learning of Dublin's origins (Viking and other), religious conditions and the liberation from British oppression. John has a good voice and is very consistent and to the point with a sprinkling of humour which makes it a pleasure to listen to him.

Dublin historical walking tour was great! I loved Gavin's interesting commentary. We were able to see a lot more of Dublin than we would have on our own. Gavin also offered great recommendations for places to eat throughout the city. The only thing that would have made it better was being able to hear a little better. Overall, I would... More

I thoroughly enjoyed this walking tour on a sunny day in Dublin. Our guide, Donal, was excellent in explaining the diverse history of Dublin and full of interesting stories and anecdotes about the city and some of it's famous inhabitants. The tour lasted a little over 2 hours with a short toilet/coffee break in the middle and it is not... More

Interesting informative and packed with facts, this walking tour of the city passed two hours on a Saturday lunchtime, taking in Trinity College as a starting point, and there was not a dull moment. The scheduled coffee stop on the halfway mark at a farmer's market was welcome on a cold day, as was the guide's well rounded and balanced... More

We booked our own guide, a bit more expensive, but worth it. We could arrange a time to suit ourselves. John, our guide, gave walking seminar of Irish History from 1798 to 1921. The students felt they could ask questions at any point and John was very generous with his time. Definitely do the same next year.

Just went on the walking tour with guide Tommy. Excellent, in-depth tour with several important stops. The tour took a little over two hours. Very detailed account of Irish history provided. We had some Irish history questions to ask but the pace was pretty fast and we weren't sure if questions were readily invited. Otherwise it was a good walking... More

Matthew, You must have missed my point at the 1st stop in Trinity College that 'Irish history is an argument without end' & that we welcome Qs from participants. No need to be shy! We encourage Qs & apologies if that wasn't clear. Thanks for the positive review. Tommy More

Our guide Gavin was very personable and knew his subject matter. Clearly an expert historian. For us, it was too much detail, often repetitive and bordering on minutiae. We would have preferred more walking and less standing in place for 20 minutes to hear what could have been delivered in less than 10 minutes. We travel frequently and have experienced... More

Great tour and excellent tour guide. Micaela was very enthusiastic, friendly and knowledgeable. She had an answer for every question we had. We are all very happy with the experience and we truly recommend it.

This is an excellent way to learn a potted history of Dublin and Ireland itself within a 2 and a half walkabout. The tour guide (Peter) was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic and even though it was freezing cold with the rain beating down sideways at times he was in no rush to get it over visiting with. I would recommend... More
