This was a wonderful experience given by Sylvie of Historical Walking Tours in Dublin. Our French friends were enthralled and got a great historical overview of Dublin.

At any of Dublin's attractions, watch for someone offering a walking tour for "a fiver" (five Euros, virtually equivalent to the US Dollar these days**) – and join in. The Westbury's Concierge Extraordinaire Eddie could also advise a reliable private tour guide for an afternoon – a really reasonable spend for the return. If you do take a driver, Phoenix... More

My father and I took this tour today and we're so glad we did! We were fortunate enough to get Tommy Graham (one of the owners) as our guide, and his delivery style and content was like the history professor you wish you'd had in school. Humor and anecdotes from past and present added layers to the experience so that... More

Covering a vast expanse of time, the guide displayed an extensive knowledge of Ireland's problems, issues and absurdities over its history. On a short stay in the city There was much I would never have found on my own and I gained a broader view of the political upheavals over the centuries. So pleased I did this. My friend was... More

Went on the historical walking tour of Dublin. Met at the front gate of Trinity College. The guide was amusing and knowledgeable. He rejigged his original itinerary as the weather was so cold and wet. I highly recommend this tour if you can do it on a dry day.

Tom gave our tour. He is a history graduate of Trinity College and very knowledgeable about Ireland in general and Dublin in particular. We had planned on taking a "hop-on-hop-off" bus tour to get a feel for the city, but after our History Tour, we decided we didn't need it...we really felt we had seen the city. I wish we... More

Check out http://historicaltours.ie VERY informative! Meet at Trinity College Front Gate and go into the courtyard. Then inside, if open, of the House of Lords (Bank of Ireland) & City Hall, outside of Christ Church and Dublin Castle. After the tour you can go back to Trinity to see the Book of Kells and def go into Christ Church. Enjoy!!

We arrived in Dublin early Saturday and happened upon this 11 am walking tour which meets daily at the Trinity College main gate. Conor was an interesting and informative guide. Our group of 30 people walked to key spots in the vicinity including Dublin Castle, City Hall and the Ha'Penny bridge. We learned a lot of Irish history in two... More
