A really good way to get to grips with Irish history. Our guide was Connor, who was carrying out research at Trinity College, where the tour starts. He was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic and a pleasure to listen to. You don't have to worry about booking and can just turn up at the right time to join the tour -... More

An entertaining way to learn about Irish history. Our guide - Sylvie - was very knowledgeable about the history and architecture of Dublin. I wish my history profs has been half as interesting as she was. We highly recommend this tour.

I emailed Tommy Graham at very short notice to see about arranging a private tour for myself and my 5 colleagues. I received an almost immediate response, and the tour was booked for the following day. Conor McNamara (our guide) picked us up at our hotel and what next ensued was a 2.5 hour tour of Dublin. Conor was informative,... More

Yesterday, we shared in a splinted walking tour with a tour guide/Trinity College "researcher" for 2 hours. Silvi (sp, please forgive) energetically moved a dozen tourists around historic Dublin. Many thanks.

I signed up through Viator for the Dublin Historical Walking Tour including Trinity College. This tour was lead by a doctoral student- young man named Donal. He was FANTASTIC! He walked us through the history of the city using buildings and landmarks to illustrate the story of Dublin from Trinity College to Temple bar, from the early Christians and Vikings... More

This tour made for a great first day in Dublin. Tommy provides a concise overview of Irish history in all its complications in an entertaining fashion. My teenage daughter--who does have an interest in history--found the mix of walking and talking particularly engaging. My husband appreciated the humor. I appreciated the opportunity to ask questions and to be disabused about... More

My friend and I had an excellent tour. We really enjoyed having a history lecture outside that used the buildings and monuments of Dublin as its visuals.

We were luck enough to have a PhD in History, John Fogarty, to expertly guide us through Dublin's historical past. The 2-hour tour began at Trinity College and ended nearby at St. Stephen's Green Park. John has a beautiful clear and audible voice with a lovely accent and was easily understood. His sense of humour shined through as well as... More

Emailed with Tommy Graham, editor of Historical Walking Tour on 9/2/2014. For the date of 7/23/15 they didn't have 11:00 a.m. tour listed so they eventually added the time for that date. We booked and paid for this tour and were looking forward to taking it., Booking #9J616126514043450. We arrived at the Trinity College Front Gate early. After our guide,... More

Tommy G, Owner at Historical Walking Tours of Dublin, responded to this review

Harriet & Don, I'm sorry that your tour didn't work out. There are 2 issues here. The 1st is group size. Our groups usually average 15. Where there are 15 or more online bookings in advance we lay on a 2nd guide. This was not the case here, however, where online bookings were not unusually large for that particular tour.... More
