Played an open day here in October and really enjoyed it. The course was in great condition for the time of year. Came 4th overall and was really pleased as it was my first visit to Royal Dublin and it is a difficult course, particularly the back 9 which was into the wind. You need your "A" game here.

Royal Dublin is one of Ireland's traditional links courses and has the added benefit of being located approximately 4 miles north from the centre of Dublin. It is a good challenge of a golfer's game and is well maintained throughout the year. It is also quite scenic with an excellent view of the "horseshoe" of Dublin Bay. The clubhouse and... More

The Royal Dublin golfcourse is a true links course like Portmarnock and one of the finest links courses in Europe. It's not a course for the average golfer. It's challenging. Even with easy conditions it's tough to score a low round (70's) As a golfer you must be able to manage als sorts of conditions to score a low round.... More

Very nice staff and club members who treated us well. The course was challenging and a lot of fun to play - especially first thing in the morning with the mist rising over the fairways.

This is an OK links course about 25 min. outside Dublin by taxi. There was nothing particularly special about the course. Comparing it with Ballybunion, Tralee, and Lahinch, where I also played, it is not in the same group, but most golf courses would not be in this group. St. Anne's golf course is nearby, and I have been told... More

Played the course recently. The course is tough, the rough is unforgiving and the greens are the worst I have ever come across. Poor value .

I would like to apologise to you for the fact that our greens were not up to our normal standard during your recent visit. As part of our Links Management Program we treated our greens to boost the natural fescue grass . This no doubt adversely effected the playability of the greens. This was further exacerbated by the recent dry... More

If you like links style golf courses then this is the course you have to play. The course is quite challenging with tight fairways, plenty of sand and very difficult undulating greens. Scenery is spectacular with this course built on Bull Island. Then there is also the history with this being the second oldest course in Ireland built on the... More

If you are coming to Dublin on a golf trip and want to hit a course straight away, I'd highly recommend Royal Dublin Golf Club. While not a "true" links course, it is surrounded by water, has wide fairways and a rich history. In other words, you'll feel good about your golf game before heading to the likes of the... More
