We visited Dublin recently. The city is lovely! However, our trip was spoilt upon arrival. I would like to share this so that fellow travellers are forewarned and also hopefully those in authority in Ireland will take some positive action to improve things. Our group of 6 flew into Dublin airport from Heathrow. As there were 6 of us and... More

Better than reading from any tour book, this program provides linking up with a Dubliner and having a casual chat about the city or just about anything at all. We met with our "ambassador" Killian for 1.5 hours and talked about the process of him becoming a secondary school teacher, local politics, and his thoughts on misconceptions about the Irish... More

An excellent way to be welcomed to any city. On our first day in Dublin, we met David (a 20 something, personable, retro kind of guy) at the Little Museum of Dublin and decided to head off to the Porterhouse for our chat. If you like beer and excellent pub food, GO THERE (separate review). We had a lively and... More

We met Simon for a coffee at Bewley's Oriental Tea House, one of the oldest in Dublin, in late June. It was a really cool coffee house and Simon was great - so friendly and gave lots of helpful tips and suggestions about what to do in Dublin. We met for about 45 minutes, so it's a quick meeting but... More

I would recommend this service to anyone going to Dublin! Our ambassador was wonderful and very fun! He gave us good advice of where to eat and where to go! This was a great free service that made Dublin one of my favorite stops on our trip! A MUST!

We spent about 2 hours with our Ambassador, Derek, and would highly recommend this to anyone coming to Dublin for the first time. This is a free service and is such a friendly offer to newcomers. Derek took us to the Merrion Hotel where we got to sit outside on a beautiful terrace, sip a nice glass of wine/beer and... More

We met with Dublin Ambassador Brian on June 2nd. He was a joy to visit with and had a broad knowledge of Dublin and the surrounding area. We appreciated the time and effort he put into our meeting and it deepened our appreciation for this fascinating region. Your City of a Thousand Welcomes program is an excellent idea that personalized... More

We spent two friendly hours on May 11 with Frank getting to know about Dublin, Ireland and Frank's interests. Frank wisely steered us to The Merrion where we not only had a pint, but had some tea later as well. He pointed out many sights between the Museum starting point and The Merrion. Inside he took us around the numerous... More

We met with Aoifa and had an amazing time! The Little Museum of Dublin was adorable and the staff was very friendly. Having met on only our second night in Ireland, Aoifa gave us a lot of wonderful tips and background information on the country, the struggles and the history. Our conversation made our two hour time together fly by.... More

This is an excellent program! We met our ambassador, Ann, at Little museum in Dublin. Ann is a very nice lady. She made us feel very welcome in the city. At the museum, you discussed the place where you want to go for a drink. We had 3 options and chose to go to Grafton St (Bewleys). She told us... More
