I wish more cities offered a service like this! My ambassador took me to The Cellar bar at a fancy hotel, and we each had a pint of beer. We spent a couple of hours there, where he shared some sightseeing ideas and answered any questions I had. For a solo travel (who's a bit on an introvert), this was... More

A small taste of the real Dublin. I think we came across the idea whilst researching our trip on Tripadvisor. We went as a couple and although it isn't clear from their website, that's fine, and Joe, our friendly guide and companion said families also book occasionally. We met Joe at reception after a short visit to the Little Museum... More

Booked this meeting online, having found them through the Irish Tourist Board. They are based in The Little Museum at St Stephens Green and you are taken for either a drink in the Porterhouse, which brews its own beer and stout, or the Merrion Hotel for sandwiches and tea/coffee. We went to the Porterhouse. The gentleman who we met was... More

we met our welcomer David at the museum and he took us to the Merrion for tea. You could tell he really loves Dublin and we talked for over an hour. The one thing I would suggest though is to have a list of what you are interested in so the welcomer can answer your questions; where we were on... More

We were met at "The Little Museum of Dublin" by our ambassador Joe, who walked us to The Porterhouse bar and over a couple of free pints told us all about Dublin, what to do and what to see. He also told us about himself and was interested in our lives too. A great start to our Dublin weekend for... More

A must-do for first-time visitors to Dublin! You meet with a true native Dubliner, a volunteer who asks nothing more than to say hello to visitors and share with them what makes then so rightfully proud of their city. We could have chosen a free cuppa tea in a cafe, but we opted for a free pint in a local... More

I would like to thank the Little Museum of Dublin and the City of a Thousand Welcomes for providing such a wonderful experience for visitors to meet local Dubliners. Over pints of craft beers at the Porterhouse (thank you for the vouchers) we had a wonderful chat with Mary. Thank you Mary for your kindness and generosity to three American... More

Roisin gave us a quick tour around downtown then we settled into a pub. After about ten minutes it was like we were visiting with an old friend. Lively, interesting conservation instead of a lecture. Very personal. She obviously was enjoying it as much as we. You are missing a free (Better than free. You get a free pint to... More

Our ambassador, Brona, was just great! She made every step count on the way to and from the Porterhouse bar near Trinity college, as she gave us a running commentary of our surroundings while we walked. While we sampled craft beers, we had a wonderful conversation. Brona is a passionate supporter of Irish culture and she was so interesting and... More

What a great experience! We met Daisy, a student at Trinity College, for tea at Bewley's. She was personable, knowledgeable, and very sweet. We had a limited number of days in the city and her insights really helped us figure out what to see. Hey Daisy - we are so sorry for not making it back to the little museum,... More
