We were met at "The Little Museum of Dublin" by our ambassador Joe, who walked us to The Porterhouse bar and over a couple of free pints told us all about Dublin, what to do and what to see. He also told us about himself and was interested in our lives too. A great start to our Dublin weekend for... More

A must-do for first-time visitors to Dublin! You meet with a true native Dubliner, a volunteer who asks nothing more than to say hello to visitors and share with them what makes then so rightfully proud of their city. We could have chosen a free cuppa tea in a cafe, but we opted for a free pint in a local... More

I would like to thank the Little Museum of Dublin and the City of a Thousand Welcomes for providing such a wonderful experience for visitors to meet local Dubliners. Over pints of craft beers at the Porterhouse (thank you for the vouchers) we had a wonderful chat with Mary. Thank you Mary for your kindness and generosity to three American... More

Roisin gave us a quick tour around downtown then we settled into a pub. After about ten minutes it was like we were visiting with an old friend. Lively, interesting conservation instead of a lecture. Very personal. She obviously was enjoying it as much as we. You are missing a free (Better than free. You get a free pint to... More

Our ambassador, Brona, was just great! She made every step count on the way to and from the Porterhouse bar near Trinity college, as she gave us a running commentary of our surroundings while we walked. While we sampled craft beers, we had a wonderful conversation. Brona is a passionate supporter of Irish culture and she was so interesting and... More

What a great experience! We met Daisy, a student at Trinity College, for tea at Bewley's. She was personable, knowledgeable, and very sweet. We had a limited number of days in the city and her insights really helped us figure out what to see. Hey Daisy - we are so sorry for not making it back to the little museum,... More

Better than reading from any tour book, this program provides linking up with a Dubliner and having a casual chat about the city or just about anything at all. We met with our "ambassador" Killian for 1.5 hours and talked about the process of him becoming a secondary school teacher, local politics, and his thoughts on misconceptions about the Irish... An excellent way to be welcomed to any city. On our first day in Dublin, we met David (a 20 something, personable, retro kind of guy) at the Little Museum of Dublin and decided to head off to the Porterhouse for our chat. If you like beer and excellent pub food, GO THERE (separate review). We had a lively and... More

We met Simon for a coffee at Bewley's Oriental Tea House, one of the oldest in Dublin, in late June. It was a really cool coffee house and Simon was great - so friendly and gave lots of helpful tips and suggestions about what to do in Dublin. We met for about 45 minutes, so it's a quick meeting but... More

I would recommend this service to anyone going to Dublin! Our ambassador was wonderful and very fun! He gave us good advice of where to eat and where to go! This was a great free service that made Dublin one of my favorite stops on our trip! A MUST!
