Description: The Stags Head is a historical Dublin pub featured in Dublin Pub tours...
The Stags Head is a historical Dublin pub featured in Dublin Pub tours renowned for it's hospitality and famous pint of Guinness! You truly capture a sense of the hidden Ireland when you accidentally stumble upon The Stag’s Head. Finding it is akin to discovering a rare treasure as it is concealed through a narrow passageway off Dame Street, although access can also be gained through Exchequer Street or Georges Street. When you enter inside this feeling of discovered booty is greatly intensified as a virtual paradise of culture and old world values confronts you. This is probably Dublin’s best preserved Victorian pub - and everything here is of authentic Victorian origin. Take time to look around and savour the sumptuously carved Victorian mahogany fittings, the mosaic marble tiled floors and granite tabletops. Visiting the Stag’s Head is a wondrous experience wether you call when the premises is cosy, warm and glowing at night time, or in early morning when this is old repository of liquid culture is radiantly illuminated by wafts of sunlight filtering through the stained glass windows. The mahogany bar, capped with red Connemara marble, follows the classic Victorian architectural pattern, being long and punctuated by exquisite partitions that divide into private compartments or stalls.

Good Old Dublin Pub

I had a few pints of Dublin Porter here recently and it was good. Great setting. Lovely old pub. Excellent staff. Can recommend.

Antoher great pub to visit in Dublin! It's great specially during summer time, when you can have a drink outside, and enjoy the Dublin craic! Only downside of drinking outside it's that sometime it can be crowded and a lot of opportunists can be hanging around... Pubs in the area (Stags Head, Tavern and Mercantile) should invest more in security... More

There was a big group of us, maybe 20. We were lucky to get space in the snug out the back (we pretty much filled it). Great buzz in the place, nice pint as well.

Nice, convivial atmosphere. Fair selection of beers on offer but could really be doing with more given Ireland's late yet much needed arrival to the independent brewing scene. The over heavy smell of lavatory air freshner needs to be addressed and if it is then the score would be higher.

Just what you want from an Irish pub. Full of friendly Irish folk eager to drink and have a laugh. Dark, old fashioned, warm and traditional. plenty of Guiness and no nonsense Irish charm

You would notice it in the first sight that this is a real Dubliner pub. Amazing couches, cozy environment and amazing live music performances make this place unique in Dublin. A must see place.

Really lovely wood-panelled traditional pub full of locals and tourists alike. Gets busy so come early if you want a seat/table and note they stop serving food after 6pm.
