This was my first stop during my trip to Ireland. The Merrion Square is a small park, but hints at how green Ireland is. The statue of Oscar Wilde was amazing, I still can't believe how real his shoes look. Visiting Merrion Square should be a short stop during your visit.

Walk around this square and take a trip back in time. There are excellent examples of Victorian Architecture in the buildings here, bring your camera if your into this type of experience as each doorway looks different in some small way.

Beautiful park in the heart of Georgian Dublin, very well maintained through with flower displays in the centre and a lovely park for children with slides, swings and climbing bars......very nice for a break from the crowds.....

Luckily the architectural assassins never managed to get their hands on the properties here. This is one of those most beautiful parts of what is left of Georgian Dublin. In the centre there is a nice park and you can walk around the railings of the park admiring the fine Georgian architecture. When you have finished that you can then... More

Loved the whimsical look on this iconic poet's statue. The surrounding park is beautiful with several more sculptures.

We were staying at the hotel adjacent to Merrion Square. We enjoyed walking across the street and enjoying this little retreat. It was situated right next to a hop on/hop off area. The area around the park was equally beautiful.

Loved the open fields with beautiful flowers, combined with the wooded paths with old statues and benches. Definitely head here on Thursdays at lunch time for the variety of local food vendors and live music.

We stayed at Hotel O'Callaghan Davenport Hotel 2 nights & enjoyed the short walk to this "Beautiful Green Space", did a lot of walking in this area! Merrion Square is an oasis in midst of a huge city! The trees, shrubs & beautiful flowers were breath taking! I was raised as a farm girl & enjoy "soaking up" nature's beauty... More
