A nice, friendly pub with excellent Irish music, The quarter mile. Went there two nights for firstly the music and the beer.

We stayed here our first night in Dublin. We actually arrived early in the day and were able to store our luggage till our room was ready. Decided to have lunch there which was very good and plenty of it. Our waitress was not very attentive at all, but the other staff more than made up for it. Ended up... More

Had an absolutely brilliant night at Ned's place last Saturday night 4th October. Five swing dancers, including three English lads had a great time dancing with the locals to reels, jigs, country music belted out magnificently by the three-piece band including Ned O'Shea himself on accordeon and two others on banjo and guitar/vocals. The craic was mighty, as they say.... More

It's like a time warp in here. Actually a nice change from some of the plastic bars sprouting up around town. I was here a few times before over the years, and it hasn't changed much since, other than the addition of a soulless restaurant, which was deserted. Mostly tourists, but a couple of Dubs too, and I heard the... More

We were there on a Saturday evening around 5 or 6, and there was NO ONE in the restaurant. Didn't witness any entertainment while we were there, but the pub section was doing a moderate business, the food was decent and huge portions and the prices were reasonable.

Visited here for a drink and lunch - which turned out to be pretty terrible. Menu choices looked good - but when the food arrived while the portion size was huge, the food was inedible! Worse still, no one seemed to care! Service was really poor also. At least 3 people were working, but seemed more interested in having a... More

My families and I wanted to go to the Brazen head pub, but it was too crowded. So we decided to go to O'Shea's merchant. The food there was fantastic and reasonable price. The employee's there were awesome by helping each other out bringing our food and drinks. If you decided to go there, ask for Maura.

A very welcoming hotel break within walking distance of Central Dublin. Yes the rooms are dated, but they are clean and have everything you need and the price you pay you wouldn't expect four or five star. The shower is great. And so what if the tv is old. Who goes to dublin to watch tv? The Owner, Ned and... More

I think my friend loved here order but I wasn't really impressed with my fish and chips. It was very filling though and quite affordable compared to the pricey food in other restaurants in Dublin! They also have a pub with, I think, lovely music. We just weren't able to stay for more. We had to leave as the set... More
