I reviewed our meal here separately (restaurant entry) - it was lovely. We ended up here again on our last evening for a drink and some (more) live music. Not only was the music good but a group of locals moved some tables around and started dancing - not for the tourists but for their own pleasure. In fact there... More

We loved experiencing the old timers playing their guitar, banjo and accordion and singing traditional Irish music. The place was cozy and the Guinness beer was great of course! People everywhere were singing, dancing, chatting and being merry! Was a few blocks away (walking) from the downtown area but worth the visit. Not commercial like Temple Bar and an authentic... My wife and I visited this spot on the advice of Robbie, our guide from the Wild Rover tour we did. We did the Irish stew and the bread and butter pudding for desert. We were not disappointed. The stew was a tasty treat and the pudding was to die for! Our waiter..think his name is Eamon. Forgive me if... More

I went to this pub when wandering in Dublin to find a nice place to get a drink. The owner (or somebody relevant) invited me in telling me they had Irish music live - apparently they have a different live each Friday. I tried some beers and listened to the music, which I liked very much. The atmosphere was very... More

Wandered into a traditional Irish music store in another part of Dublin. Traditional music was playing and I asked the proprietor, "Where can I hear that?" He recommended O'Shea's Merchant and the Cobblestone. We went to both. We hit O'Shea's first at about 8pm. No music until 9:30, so we stayed for dinner. I had the lamb stew which comes... More

Choose hotel because of its location for a work visit. The staff are very welcoming and attentive. The accomodation is above the pub. The building is old but clean and homely. Bed linen was crisp but mattress was lumpy and bear in mind - you are situated on a very busy street, so expect noise at night. Breakfast was ok,... More

This is what I pictured when I thought of traditional Irish pub life; good Irish food, great Irish drink, live session music and the friendliest folks on the planet. The locals embraced us and pulled us into the revelry. If you go to one pub in Dublin, this might be your best choice.

This pub is a little part of County Kerry in Dublin. Home to traditional and folk music as well as Irish set dancing. A refuge for country people in the urban setting of Dublin. Rooms and breakfast available there too,, great place to be for GAA games.
