Wandered into a traditional Irish music store in another part of Dublin. Traditional music was playing and I asked the proprietor, "Where can I hear that?" He recommended O'Shea's Merchant and the Cobblestone. We went to both. We hit O'Shea's first at about 8pm. No music until 9:30, so we stayed for dinner. I had the lamb stew which comes... More

Choose hotel because of its location for a work visit. The staff are very welcoming and attentive. The accomodation is above the pub. The building is old but clean and homely. Bed linen was crisp but mattress was lumpy and bear in mind - you are situated on a very busy street, so expect noise at night. Breakfast was ok,... More

This is what I pictured when I thought of traditional Irish pub life; good Irish food, great Irish drink, live session music and the friendliest folks on the planet. The locals embraced us and pulled us into the revelry. If you go to one pub in Dublin, this might be your best choice.

This pub is a little part of County Kerry in Dublin. Home to traditional and folk music as well as Irish set dancing. A refuge for country people in the urban setting of Dublin. Rooms and breakfast available there too,, great place to be for GAA games.

The lamb stew was fantastic! It was baked and tasted home cooked. My nephew who has traveled the world, says it was the best food he has ever had. It came with a pint for $10 E, which was a good price for what we got.

What can I say?! Great food and friendly staff make this place a winner. After originally planning on going to the pub across the street and receiving very poor service, we instead decided to go across the road to O'Sheas for dinner. The woman who greeted us and took our order was so lovely, as was the chef who brought... More

We stayed here our first night in Dublin. We actually arrived early in the day and were able to store our luggage till our room was ready. Decided to have lunch there which was very good and plenty of it. Our waitress was not very attentive at all, but the other staff more than made up for it. Ended up... More

Had an absolutely brilliant night at Ned's place last Saturday night 4th October. Five swing dancers, including three English lads had a great time dancing with the locals to reels, jigs, country music belted out magnificently by the three-piece band including Ned O'Shea himself on accordeon and two others on banjo and guitar/vocals. The craic was mighty, as they say.... More

It's like a time warp in here. Actually a nice change from some of the plastic bars sprouting up around town. I was here a few times before over the years, and it hasn't changed much since, other than the addition of a soulless restaurant, which was deserted. Mostly tourists, but a couple of Dubs too, and I heard the... More
