This bar is close to St. Stephen's Green. Step back in time in this old Irish pub. Enjoy the atmosphere and listen to the experienced musicians joining together to provide some great music. Join in with the singing. The Dubliners used to play here and you can see their pictures on the wall along with lots of other photos from... More

We were seeking a pub in Dublin with traditional Irish music, and having done a bit of research, settled on O’Donoghue’s. Music was to start about 9pm, and we arrived about 7:30, and the place was already fairly crowded with a lot of after-work locals. We found a couple stools at the end of the bar, and as it turned... My dad and I went to this pub, looking for irish folk music. We weren't disappointed! The music together with a good beer, made it for me almost impossible to get my dad out of the pub. ;)

During our stay in Dublin one day it was raining cats and dogs so we looked for a pub where we could dry up a bit and grab a pint of Guinness, so we accidentally hopped into O'Donoghue's We didn't know that this bar was the bar where it all started for The Dubliners... but the pub is very nicely... Nice heated area between both sides of the bar to sit out and enjoy the warmth and have a chat with friends. Get's pretty crowded after work on a Friday

Strange as it sounds, as a Dublin man born and bred I had never set foot inside this famous landmark pub although I was aware of it and have seen photographs and postcards and calendars of it. While I was out on a walk recently, I decided to have a wander in for a Saturday afternoon pint of Guinness. It's... More

I went to O'Donoghue's pub on Merrion Row with a mate and we really enjoyed it! It's a typical Dublin pub and what's more, it's where the legendary folk group The Dubliners were founded and first performed! It has become a bit of a Dubliners Museum with photos and drawings on the walls which reflect great memories. And the Dublin... More

Recommended by a couple of locals as the place to go for traditional Irish music session. We were not disappointed. Its quaint, quite small (with a room out the back), best Guinness in Dublin (sic). Excellent Music session with locals joining in. Most traditional experience we had in a city. Its not in the real centre of town but about... More

Overcrowded place. I wonder how many people they are allowed to cram into this rather small pub... The beer was good, though.
