Loved this bar where we found live Irish music and a lively, friendly crowd enjoying the craic. The group of musicians loved the crowd joining in and we felt part of it.

As you can see from the pictures on the walls this was a very famous folk bar where the world famous Dubliners group was formed. Seemingly it gets busy in the evenings with live music but we came in at lunchtime for a nice quiet pint. One of the few MUST HAVE pubs to visit in Dublin.

Walked in to have a pint and spent all afternoon in the newer part ! Have visited the old bar on countless occasions and that remains special but the new extensions fit in well. Really good Guinness and a place to relax and watch sport on a Saturday afternoon. The nightlife and live music are special. One of Dublin's best!

I have had pints of Guinness all over Dublin, but the ones poured at O'Donogue's are simply the best. I make it a point to stop in for one or three every time I'm in Dublin. The secret is the sheer amount that is constantly flowing through their pipes, fresh from the Brewery, served by bartenders that know how to... More

We enjoyed our visit here for pints and music. Nice traditional pub scene. We sat in one of the quieter back rooms where two guys were jamming with flutes, and where there were seats with a back. Wandering through the premises it looked like there was something for everyone. Busy bar with stools and friendly folks. There was a family... More

Super friendly, met happy wonderful locals! Great atmosphere. Everyone was helpful, a wealth of knowledge of the area. Fun pictures throughout the pub.

We visited this pub on our receptionist advice and we were a little dissapointed. It is very crowded, lound and if you think you've come here to enjoy classical folk music - think twice. The musicians played without any speakers, so only few guest could hear the music. It's a pitty as the pub is nice and there is good... More

This venue seems to be trading off a reputation earned in another era. As a group of six we purchased two rounds and had enough scolding from bar staff, so we left. Apparently they're not fond of card payments despite the seemingly high turnover thereof.

My friend and I popped into O'Donoghue's for a couple of hours on the last day of our stay in Dublin. Having played at folk sessions myself for a good fifteen years, this was a very authentic music session, with around eight to ten musicians playing and singing traditional Irish folk tunes. It doesn't come more genuine than this and... More

Stopped by here after being recommended it by a staff member from the Marker Hotel. We both had a pint of Guinness and they were lovely, one of the best pints we had on our stay. The barman whose name escapes me - I think it could have been Ryan? - was very nice to talk to and gave us... More
