It's about as authentic a Dublin pub as you are going to find. And we didn't manage, to our great regret, to catch a music night. We were there twice just soaking up the atmosphere, chatting to the regulars and sipping Guinness. The place is central, easy to find and exploding with character. You can easily spend an hour looking... More

This pub only survives on its former glory. It's very crowded, and if you think you've come here to enjoy classical folk music - think again. There's so little room inside the bar, that only very few of the guests have a chance to see/hear the musicians. Anyway if you want to be part of a lively crowd - this... More

Good location, good food, drink and atmosphere. Menu is a little limited, but what we ordered tasted good and was turned over fairly quickly. We weren't terribly impressed with our server-she didn't have much of a personality and wasn't terribly polite. She is the reason why I didn't give the place 5 stars.

great pub, great location, great clientele and great service - excellent, friendly staff. But the downstairs ladies toilet.......retaining the character of a pub doesn't mean you have to avoid maintaining the toilet! There are better toilets upstairs but that's not an acceptable excuse.

Called into this bar after walking around the temple bar area, the place was absolutely rammed with locals and tourists, had the obligatory drink of Guinness fabulous atmosphere and the Guinness was cold and creamy what more could you ask. Ladies toilets are a little bit basic but small price to pay for a great evening, pub itself a bit... More

One of the few times I have felt like I was not on vacation. Real people real music ( sometimes rough around the edges) but a great evening out. Crowded and quaint, with the regulars at the bar.

Decided after sightseeing to grab some hot food as it was a cold raw day. The place was relatively empty but the service was very good. Our server was clever and knowledgeable. The stew was very good. The vegetable soup and sandwich was great. The portion was so large I could not finish it.

We Absolutely loved this pub. It was recommend by the staff at the hotel we were staying at just down the street. This pub has everything that you are looking for. Its old, the atmosphere is great, good music, good beer and the staff was the best around! I can’t wait to return on my next trip to Ireland. Great... More

Just off St Stephens Green in Merrion Row, this was one of the Dubliners wateringf holes and where they played their music before they went on the road. Musicians still gather there every night and Sundays at 1 pm to have hours and hours of traditional Irish music and song. Went here in 1963 and learned the tin whistle and... More

This bar has been here for as long as I can remember, and now it's also a B&B. There's another O'Donoghue's Bar on Suffolk St., not too far away, and a lot of tourists think that one is the famous bar, but it's not. This is famous for the folk group "The Dubliners", and there's pictures hung up around the... More
