great once the stag left

Nice heated area between both sides of the bar to sit out and enjoy the warmth and have a chat with friends. Get's pretty crowded after work on a Friday

Strange as it sounds, as a Dublin man born and bred I had never set foot inside this famous landmark pub although I was aware of it and have seen photographs and postcards and calendars of it. While I was out on a walk recently, I decided to have a wander in for a Saturday afternoon pint of Guinness. It's... More

I went to O'Donoghue's pub on Merrion Row with a mate and we really enjoyed it! It's a typical Dublin pub and what's more, it's where the legendary folk group The Dubliners were founded and first performed! It has become a bit of a Dubliners Museum with photos and drawings on the walls which reflect great memories. And the Dublin... More

Recommended by a couple of locals as the place to go for traditional Irish music session. We were not disappointed. Its quaint, quite small (with a room out the back), best Guinness in Dublin (sic). Excellent Music session with locals joining in. Most traditional experience we had in a city. Its not in the real centre of town but about... More

Overcrowded place. I wonder how many people they are allowed to cram into this rather small pub... The beer was good, though.

A great pub and as always packed with a mixture of locals and visitors. The bar staff are very friendly and very good at spotting people trying to buy drinks so despite the crowd service is fast

We were recommended to give this pub a visit from a local. Great choice, bar man was over accommodating bringing our drinks to the table. Outside smoking area was warm and we found ourselves in there every afternoon for 3 days straight for a few pints of Guinness! We'd definitely visit again next time we're in Dublin!

Old, rough around the edges in spots, but definitely feels like an Irish pub with live music and boisterous crowds. Can get very crowded.

Had a small apartment on Baggot Street and was walking around on day1 of my trip and found this great lil pub. The barman was friendly as were the patrons. Great music, great history, very cozy. Really enjoyed the Craic the night before the big game.
