Good for Pints

Gets a little crowded on the weekends but great for pints with firends. Lots of live music going on. Good location and taxi stand right outside. Not for families with kids.

Maybe we were having an off night, but I had an awful time here. Ended up leaving having heard no music, not being able to get a drink, and experiencing a terribly rude fellow patron (leading to us leaving pretty quickly, I don't need that.) Maybe because we were international visitors she felt she could slam on us out of... More

This is one pub you can't afford to miss when visiting Dublin. With live traditional music to enjoy and take part in while to enjoy a good pint of the black stuff (Guinness). Staff are very friendly and pub has a fantastic atmosphere ... A. Definite on your list of places to. Is it.

If you're a tourist, especially if you're a tourist, please please stay away from this place. The service is just non existent for starters but secondly and probably more importantly THE GUINNESS is just shockingly bad. Believe me, IM IRISH, I KNOW. Finally, they do music 7 nights a week. Not worth a lot unless you're sitting in the main... More

Stayed here on the night of the ACDC concert at the Aviva Stadium. Good location, just 20 mins from the stadium. Stayed in twin room, was clean comfortable and perfectly adequate for the price paid. Its a perfect place to stay if you're out for the night in Dublin as pub downstairs is busy until around 1am so would be... More

For about three years, 1966 to 1969, my mail could have been delivered here. At the time it was the epicenter of "The Ballad Boom", a revival of interest in Ireland's music and song and I revelled in it. I will say that if I had continued to drink like I did then I would be dead. Like so many... More

My friend and I wanted to get the full "Irish pub" experience while in Dublin. Sadly, most of the so-called tradicional Irish pubs are nowadays mainly just tourist attractions. O'Donoghue's, on the contrary, while there were still a fair amount of tourists there, was also full of local people! We had an amazing night there. The place is small but... More

It was a magical experience to be in this traditional music bar, the home of the Dubliners. Yes, it gets crowded, but everyone is friendly and having a good time in this special place. Traditional music every night and they pour a good pint.

This is one of the only pubs where you'll reliably find a music session going on in the middle of the day. It's good to have a guest house nearby.
