This is one of the only pubs where you'll reliably find a music session going on in the middle of the day. It's good to have a guest house nearby.

I love the outdoor seating (with heat lamps, it was chilly in April!) and the staff were very friendly. This bar was packed with locals and visitors there for the music, which did not disappoint. It was not the greatest bar in my entire life, but we enjoyed our time here and visited twice during our stay in Dublin.

Really enjoyed this bar. A few drinks and some live music. To listen to the music you do need to sit near the from of the bar otherwise you would struggle to hear it. Later on became very lively when the locals came in and joined in the signing. Had a throughly brilliant evening. Well worth a visit, would definitely... More

We hung around from 8 to 9 30 waiting for the musicians. The place is pleasant but packed with mostly non-locals. Cheerful barman and lots of Guiness flowing. The music was decent but not inspiring and we left after two "songs." We don't regret spending the time there, but it wasn't a high point of our stay. Music at Temple... More

First place we went when we got into Dublin for a traditional Irish breakfast then went there at night for a pint!! Worth going!! Great atmosphere at night for pubbing!

You must have a pint at O'Donohue's Bar preferably in the outdoor seating area. Order the "toasted sandwiches and tomato soup" for a taste of authentic Dublin pub grub. Just remember, the food is an afterthought, it's about the atmosphere, the people, the music, and the Guinness.

This bar is close to St. Stephen's Green. Step back in time in this old Irish pub. Enjoy the atmosphere and listen to the experienced musicians joining together to provide some great music. Join in with the singing. The Dubliners used to play here and you can see their pictures on the wall along with lots of other photos from... More

We were seeking a pub in Dublin with traditional Irish music, and having done a bit of research, settled on O’Donoghue’s. Music was to start about 9pm, and we arrived about 7:30, and the place was already fairly crowded with a lot of after-work locals. We found a couple stools at the end of the bar, and as it turned... My dad and I went to this pub, looking for irish folk music. We weren't disappointed! The music together with a good beer, made it for me almost impossible to get my dad out of the pub. ;)

During our stay in Dublin one day it was raining cats and dogs so we looked for a pub where we could dry up a bit and grab a pint of Guinness, so we accidentally hopped into O'Donoghue's We didn't know that this bar was the bar where it all started for The Dubliners... but the pub is very nicely...
