Since I was a child I visited Clara Lara when visiting Dublin so it's lovely to be able to take your own family along and see that it hasn't changed much. One of the things I most enjoy about going is the trip there and back, beautiful scenery and fresh air that brings an overwhelming feeling of well being! While... More

Ok, feeling my age but, last time I was here I was about 20 years ago when I was in the scouts. Decided to head up with my wife and two kids. Travel is about an hour by car from Tallaght in South Dublin. For those unfamiliar with the road don't worry. While it's in the Wicklow mountains its a... More

Visited Clara Lara in August with family. Got there early to secure a spot with BBQ near the loos. Weather was gorgeous, river was clean and wonderful and the playground with river swings was a big success with the younger members of the family. Kids ran about all day playing and paddling in complete safety. Snack bars on offer are... More

Wonderful location set just south of Glendalough its like a kids hidden gem in the woods. We visited the park on its closing weekend as had been travelling all summer and it was the perfect time to go as there were no queues! Water sports great fun and your kids are fine for the day pitted out in a wetsuit... More

We had a brilliant day in Clara lara. The kids absolutely loved it. It is quiet expensive because some of the attractions cost extra like the water slide , karting and kayaks. The facilities are really good , barbeque area , picnic tables , food available , changing area etc . The attractions themselves are suitable for everyone but kids... More

Set in beautiful woodland and the banks for a gorgeous flowing river this is a great day out for the family. Bring charcoal/lunch, pick a spot and get set for a long and enjoyable day in the outdoors. There is plenty to keep the kids entertained, in terms of kyaks, row boats, go karts, swings, slides, tree houses etc. The... More

Visited Glendalough several times without realising this gem was round the corner...not many places let kids ( and adults ) experience stepping stones, rope swings over water, logs over water, rowing boats, tree houses, climbing cargo nets, water slides and more in a glorious countryside location. These simple things gave my family a great day out. Knowing all water attractions... More

Got a lovely day the sun came out . You need a good day for this spot. Kids loved the paddle boats which are in shallow water. Lovely place for picnic and barbecue facilities all there. Plenty of slides and green areas for them to play in
