What a disappointment. The brochure acquired in the hotel from this attraction promised much from this attraction but delivered little. The huge 1:500 scale model of Cork is impressive but could do with some technological input to enhance the experience. In two visits to Cork, we have learned enough to note all the major sites but it all seems rather... More

This is a de-consecrated church. It holds exhibitions from time to time and these vary depending on the exhibit. However, in the centre of the main hall, is a model of the city which is absolutely fascinating and well worth a visit.

After taking the Cork City Marsh Tour we finished our tour in the Vision Centre. This was a former church in the heart of the old medieval quarter of the city. Inside was a large 3D map of the city that brought to life the tour we had just taken. It illustrated perfectly the development of the city on the... More

The description on the City Guide Map sounded good implying lots of historical information, but in reality it's just a model of the city (although a very good model) and a very small picture gallery, so nothing of interest to me.

Cork's Vision Centre is situated in a former quaint little church in the heart of the medieval city.. Art displays are regularly displayed and changed so that each visit to the gallery may be a different experience. Varying themes such as Rory Gallagher or 9/11 have been recent presentations. One constant display in the centre is a 3D Map of... More

Used to be an old church and has been turned into a funky gallery. Was recommended as a place to see when we were staying it the Maldron. really enjoyed it and will recommend it to others.

Our friends recently had a civil ceremony here and it was an ideal place for a small crowd and a great conversation piece!

The photography exposition is sort of nice, but the pictures are hung very low and it might have helped is the underscript would be placed above the pictures in this case. The model of Cork... could use a bit more explanatory texts I expected to learn about Cork here... no such luck!

This used to be a church, and has retained all of its original structural layout, including wonderful windows. The light in there is great and the place can cater for some really big installations. There is a permanent display of a scale model of Cork and its suburbs which is worth a look. They have a selection of books and... More

The Vision Centre is a great little facility located right in the city centre. Set up inside an old church, the building itself is pretty and there is a big 3 dimensional 'map' of the city inside. A lot of interesting travelling exhibitions pass through here, usually slightly unusual and interesting. You're never really sure what awaits you as you... More
