I'm not new to the English Market. At all. I've been going there for years, and I must say, every time I go there, I'm not disappointed. With the friendly staff, and negotiotive prices, it's a love. With every corner, there's new smell's, shops and people. Just one thing, don't think that you can get through there in a hurry...... More

We had a lovely time strolling through the Market. Lots of local vendors selling beautiful meats and cheeses, olives and other veggies, fresh breads, wine and pre-made sandwiches and desserts. The place is clean, lots to look and vendors friendly. Worth stopping in an picking up some local treats to enjoy along the way. Foodie heaven.

There is a lot of different fresh foods. It seems many locals come here to get their shopping done. A lot af different types of meat. A bit to crowded in my opinion.

If you would like to see local produce both modern & traditional this is certainly the place to find it. Stalls laid out with such a selection of fine fresh food & beautifully displayed. Queen Elizabeth came here on her visit to Ireland a few years ago. Some stalls have been doing business here for 3 & 4 generations. Wonderful... More

Great to wander about and soak up the atmosphere, and perhaps try the breads and the cheeses, and perhaps linger for a coffee

This Market is traditionally the FRESH FOOD BASKET in CORK City. It is renowned internationally after the visit of the English Queen Elizabeth 2nd. who visited a short time ago. There is a pleasant feeling wandering from shop to shop displaying FRESH : fish, cheese, bread, vegetables, meat , poultry etc. The quality is here. Above all the welcoming atmosphere... More

Cork City is blessed to have such a market. Fruits, vegetables, meat, fish from the most common to the exotic. Crocodile meat to strange looking fruit. Each stall holder has a story to tell. Go early morning to catch the best atmosphere. Have lunch or just coffee at the Farmgate inside. Go and enjoy.

Most toursist are not in need of the largest selection of fresh meat. Plenty of fresh deserts if you want cakes, etc. I couldn't even find shortbread cookies. I don't cook when I am home, much less on vacation so please take that into consideration.
