The English Market is for foodstuffs as Tiffanys is for jewellery (significantly cheaper though!) You can get the finest fish, bread, meat, cakes, vegetables...the list goes on! Plus you can also get knickknacks! This is a working market and gets very busy, but is worth a wander around.

Stopped here to have a look around. Great produce and a lot to see in that respect. Fishmongers well known according to my guide...building itself looks old with a bit of character. It really is a place to have an easy wander if wanting to fill the time. There are places in Cork or County Cork one can best spend... More

great breakfast in the cafe, nice market for food stuffs, a nice morning filler for something to do. Visiting for a week and staying in hotel though there wasn't really anything we could purchase...

The people of Cork are so lucky to have such a great market. It was very much like Chelsea Market in NYC but with a decidedly Irish flavor . The pastry wad to die for. We choose to have lunch upstairs in the sandwich area and were not disappointed !!

Nice local market to walk around with plenty of photo ops. Nothing spectacular and won't take much time to see all the stalls. Wish we were hungry because everything looked delicious. Worth a walk through.

We were told that everyone needs to see the English Market when in Cork...we could have doen without stopping by. Its basically any old farmers market you can see. It was a good waste of 20 min.

The English Market was an interesting experience but not one I would try to fit in if you are on a tight schedule; not worth it in my opinion. You will see various meats, vegetables and other goods for sale by merchants but that is about it. Stop in for some ice cream or a tart if you have some... More

After glowing reports from other people we gave the English Market a try while we were in Cork. We can't say there is anything wrong with the market, but at the same time we can't say there is anything special about it either as Farmers Markets in some of the smaller towns in Cork were far, far better. A reasonable... More

It's the perfect place in Cork to find top quality fresh goods. Anything from cold meats - ice-cream - pastries. The also have a fantastic shop for wine and cigar lovers, it's worth the browse.... When you've finished your shopping try the café upstairs.

English Market is a must see if you are in Cork. A lot of fine stuff, a bit expensive but good quality.
