We were staggered by the quality of the goods within the market and how they were displayed. Attended the Cafe on the balcony which was excellent too, albeit a little tight for seating.

Delightful market accessible from several streets and lanes in the centre of Cork. Full of fish, cheeses, fresh meats, sandwiches, slices pizzas and Irish souvenirs. Buy some lunch and go and eat in the park or better still buy lunch and take it to the Mutton Lane Inn Heritage Pub and enjoy with a glass of Murphy's! This is quite... More

I've spent many lunches going to the sandwich shop here and ordering a baguette or to o-flynns for a sausage sandwich. If you pick up some nice bread, goat cheese from the cheese shop, and pate, head to fitzgerald park after (10 minute walk) for a nice picnic, or even across the street (a little seedier). The meat shops are... More

It was covered in and most interesting to walk around. I had a lovely lunch in Farmgate Restaurant. The food was super!

Spent almost 2 hours browsing all the stalls here, as a chef it was amazing to see all the different varieties of food, the seafood section had a whole tuna, where the fishmonger sliced off tuna steaks to order, and an abundance of every seafood known to me, and a few I didn't know. The meat sections sold every part... More

Totally worth stopping in to take a look around - they have some prepared foods, in addition to the fresh foods. A must see!!

A regular market, but then in a building. I entered the market end of the day and the fish smell was horrible. Lots of meat and chicken stands and nothing artisan. There was one stand with artisan stuff, but that also wasn't smelling very well. Nice stands with honey, jam and mustard. Not very special.

Day #60 on my #100happydays journey led me to Cork City today where I visited the English Market for the very first time, will certainly be back though. The energy; the noise; the soundings; the selection; the vibrancy; the entire place was electric! Also took in some City Sculptures whilst there
