A proper market selling just about everything in the way of fish, poultry, meat and dozens of various cheeses, bread and cakes. Nice cafe upstairs for a quick cuppa. Stallholders are helpful and friendly many offering you the opportunity to taste before you buy

It is more like a meat market. I expected to see all types of different stores. We walked through it in 5 minutes. Unpleasant experience.

The English market is always bustling and full of life and good food from all the stalls and shops. Wander through and buy some chocolate from the truffle stands to nibble on as you go. It's a great place to get a nice treat or gift as among the food, they also have nice jewelry shops. It might be a... More

Just wish our home town had a market like this, place was buzzing as folks looked for fruit, veg meat and pretty well everything else. Incredible choice and quality - good café upstairs to watch the world go by - visited here again later in the day and were amazed how much merchandise had been shifted. The people of Cork... More

We only spent some two hours in this large city, but found the Old English Market. We enjoyed coffee and a super crab sandwich.

Can't recommend this market enough. Completely spoilt for choice. The smells, sights and atmosphere are addictive. Definitely worth a visit - especially Heaven's Cakes for the best chocolate mousse cakes I have ever tasted.

This market had a wide variety of cheese, meats, fish, and everything a standard market would have. It was quaint, and everything seemed gourmet, from desserts to fish. There were chefs shopping there for their evening menu. The people were friendly, and it was amazing trying different goodies at the market.
