Best place for Breakfast in Cork

This is a lovely place full of small shops and butchers, upstairs is a cafe and a bar. We had breakfast and a walk around some of the shops and stalls, well worth a visit.

My so and I both had sandwiches and drinks from the market. They tasted great and the shops were neat to look at.

Meat Meat Meat. Loved the idea of showcasing different stuff but way too meat and stinky. Enjoyed few pastries but very difficult to swallow with so much meat hanging around. Defo a stop for meat lovers.

The English Market is a Cork institution. Don't let the name fool you, the Market is very Irish, filled with artesian Irish cheeses, meats, fish, baked goods and tonnes of other products including health foods, fruit and vegetables, confectionary, drinks and smoothies. Also within the English Market you will find an upstairs restaurant, Farm Gate (I think), it uses produce... More

This is such a unique and unusual place to see that you just can't overlook it. (After all, if it is good enough for the Queen - who personally visited the market about four years ago....) It is easy to reach - on a side street off of Plunkett street. It is nothing more than an old-fashioned grocery store, but... More

I now understand the reason for the name. Despite it the delightful, busy and well stocked market is very Irish and the better for it. Dozens of fantastic stalls and smallholders. High quality produce, meat, fish, cheese and all, competitively priced and tantalising. We could only sample. We had insufficient facility to take home everything we would have liked to... More

The minute we walked into the English Market we instantly got the smell of the fresh produce. They hve such a great selection here including meat, fish, vegetables even clothes. The little shops are so well presented and everything is so fresh!
