This is an interesting exteneded "farmer's market" type of atmosphere with an Irish flare. there are lots of food and meat vendors as well as a number of specialty shops. It looks like it is geared more for the locals to shop for fresh staples (meat, vegetables etc.). It's interesting but it's isn't something I would put on the top... More

This is a unique element of Cork life that should always be experienced when in the vicinity. The food stalls are excellent and the lads serving are always up for a chat and advice on how to prep / serve the food. A real must and always ask for a sample at the pre prep'd food stalls, you wont be... More

A real traditional market which unfortunately we don't see enough of. Our wander through the English market was thoroughly enjoyable as we viewed the produce we wish we could find at home.

I am not someone who normally enjoys shopping in markets but this market is completely different from the norm. A haven of delicious foods and quality produce. Alongside nifty little shops selling various different items. You could literally spend hours in here. cafes looked really good also but unfortunately I had already eaten so couldn't try them out. I will... More

My husband is from Cork so this is one of our favorite "go to" places when we are in town. Our kids love looking at the appetizing displays and meats, seafood and fruits & veggies. The place is spotless! The smells are enticing from sausage and peppers to coffees. Our oldest daughter is a huge fan of Andrew Zimmern and... More

We were recommended to head here as a great place to see and experience Cork from our hotel (Hayfield Manor...BAD experience there). We walked there from the hotel, about 20 minutes or so, and were appalled when we got there that is was just a market. We were told that there were quaint shops as well as a market. For... More

The local people are lucky . I really wish this was in my part of the country. A hugh range of fish for which it is so famous. Several stalls selling cheeses, olives , veg and so much more. More chicken than I have ever seen in one place. Breads , cakes and much more. Should I ever visit Cork... More

This was my first stop on my visit to Cork. It was fun to walk around and see all of the purveyors - mostly meat, chicken, and fish. My first wish was that I lived in Cork so that I could shop here all the time. Since I was just passing through, I just bought a sandwich at The Sandwich... More
