Lively bar with friendly people

We called in to this bar for a quick drink but ended up staying for some time! Lively atmosphere, friendly and helpful bar staff and fun clientele made it great fun.

This bar was directly opposite our hotel, so became the main first stop on our pub tour of Cork, what can I say we often stayed here for a few beers, were as normally we would have hit 1 pint 1 bar rule, The staff were most friendly and always supplied us with information on where to go next, what... I've had lunch a few times in the Shelbourne and the food is great. The lunch menu has sandwiches and baguettes rather than full meals but there is so much in the sandwiches that they are as filling as a full meal. I would highly recommend the Shelbourne baguette with chicken, stuffing, bacon, melted cheese........ Lovely!! The service is quick... More

In Cork for the weekend with friends we called into the Sherbourne for a pint. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was good as was the drinks. We enjoyed ourselves so much we returned again on the Saturday.

You know how in the movies the main character walks in a bar and before he gets to order, the drink is there waiting? That's how I feel at the Shelbourne. Philip and his staff are second to none. I especially recommend Fridays, they serve comp finger food and prices are even lower than usual. These people will make you... More

We stopped here for lunch while visiting Cork. It looked and felt like good pub. While the selection of beer was good, the food left a little to be desired. But this seems more like a night time hang out where football and rugby fans congregate. It might be worthwhile trying at night.

Great clientele and great servers. The atmosphere was friendly and chilled out. Nice and simple. For whiskey lovers, try the 21 yr Teeling!

This is a great pub. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. They know Cork well and were able to advise on places to go and see. It is a very busy pub and a lot of local seem to have a drink here which is a very good sign. The pub seems to have a large range of... More

Popped in for a quick drink in my way to the train station. Located next to the theatre I found this to be a nice down to earth friendly bar.
