Really enjoyed my trip to Blarney Castle. I travelled to cork for a few days with my sister, and would recomend a trip to Blarney. The Castle is set in lovely grounds, and worth exploring is the Rock garden, full of little nooks and crannies, fairy steps and grotto's. Then climb the steps inside the castle (not good if you... more

There is no way you can come all the way to Ireland from the states and not do this. Sure, it's touristy and crowded and a bit expensive, but you will never again have a chance to do this. While the castle and the stone were largely what I expected, what I did not expect was how expansive and beautiful... more

Like some other reviewers, I did some serious eye rolling prior to visiting Blarney Castle. But in the end, we were Ireland, we were in the area, we might as well do it, despite the steep entrance fee. I have to say, it surpassed my expectations and so I would give it a mild thumbs up. Given the very nice... more

My trip to Ireland would not have been complete without a trip to the Blarney Stone. This memorable "first base" moment was more exciting than some similar kisses with actual people. I spent about 3 hours at the castle and packed a picnic lunch to eat on the grounds. The castle had fairly good interpretive signs to tell you about... more

Had visited the castle in April end 09. Its quite accessible from Cork City Bus station. There are buses every hour to and from Blarney. The return tickets costs abt 6 Euro. At Blarney the castle entrance is few steps from the bus station. The whole Blarney castle experience is quite refreshing, as the walk through the estate and rocks... more

I was dragged here kicking and screaming, expecting a very cheesy, touristy negative experience. I was totally wrong. The grounds are huge and stunningly beautiful and the commercialization I feared is minimal. The castle is in ruins but is still quite attractive from the outside. I planned on spending an hour but could easily have spent 3 just walking the... more

I was astonished that the price to get into Blarney Castle was 10Euros each! For that you get to walk around a ruin and bend over backwards to kiss a stone - which if you want a photo - is another 10Euros! The grounds are nice with the Witches Kitchen and Fairy Glen but I think there are better castles... more

We went to Blarney Castle in February 2009. There were no lines and the handlers at the top let me take pictures. Normally they will not let you take pictures as they are trying to sell theirs. My kids, aged 14 and 11, had a great experience running up the circular stairs and kissing the stone. Don't beleive the rumors!... more

With all there is to see in Ireland, we probably would not have gone to the Castle, if we had not been booked into Blarney by our tour company on a driving tour of Ireland. However, we did find it interesting enough to explore and spend a few hours there. The entrance fee of 10 euros was pretty pricey, but... more

Want to kiss the Blarney Stone? Gotta go to Blarney Castle in Cork, Ireland, climb up to the top, and bend over backwards!! Only then will you, like the rest of us countless gullibles, receive the gift of gab, "eloquence". (Personally, I felt it was worthwhile-- now no one can shut me up!) Even if you can't get up to... more
