The ruins of the 13th century Timoleague Abbey are sited on the waterside of the village of Timopleague. Car parking spaces are available just outside and picnic benches are available next to the water - so makes a beautiful place to stop for a picnic followed by a walk around the ruins. As we rounded the curving road towards Courtmacsherry Bay, we saw an imposing stucture in the distance. We were compelled to stop and take a closer look.
