Went with our 6 year old and he loved the boats. Small attraction run by volunteers but well presented. Nice tearoom and museum with hands on displays. 3 boats doing a variety of trips on the Union Canal. 20 mins to 4 hours. Staff were especially friendly and great towards children. Would recommend for a half day trip.

This is a lovely place to just sit and watch the world go by. The tearooms are great too and prices are very reasonable. Staff are all very helpful and friendly. Boat trips are well the money and a great way to see the canal. Lovely walks along the canal paths too.

Wonderful place. Good just to watch the boats go along the canal in the summer months. Roll on Easter when it all open's up again especially the Tea Room !

We went on the cruise from Linlithgow to the Avon Aqueduct and back. The cruise lasted approximately two and a half hours.I had never been on a canal before and found it very peaceful and relaxing. The cruise cost £8 or £7 for pensioners and included a cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit. It was well worth the... More

We stopped off with our Narrowboat overnight, the Linlithgow Basin was lovely, the volounteers gave us a tour and a talk on the history of the Canal, they are so hard working and dedicated and do a marvelous job, keep up the good work.

We took the short trip on the Victoria with a very knowledgeable volunteer captain. Such an insight into canal life of long ago. It was a very tranquil trip on the canal with interesting history. The teashop was delightful, also staffed by volunteers, and the museum, although very small, was interesting. We were lucky enough to be there during the... More

Just happened upon the Linlithgow Canal Centre, and enjoyed a wonderful afternoon. We live not so far away but didn't know it existed. Equal to the Railway reservation work just down the hill! We had a nice cuppa and then a cruise along the canal, with great care and attention from the volunteer crew. Very family friendly, and a lovely... More

It closes mid August we arrived on the last week. Better advertising of opening times in the Information office is required. The route sigh posts are not the quickest way to reach the canal centre from the centre of town and there is no parking at it. Suggest leave car in town and walk up. Go up the road between... More

Had a lovely visit to the canal centre where i bought a ticket for a boat trip that goes along parts of the canal. It was peaceful, tranquil, quaint and beautiful. I and my partner were lucky to have most of the boat to ourselves only sharing with another couple. The boat ride lasts 30mins and costs £4 each, which... More
