This place is just beautiful! It was our favourite place on our trip to Skye. There is definitely a magical feeling to this place, with all the mounds and rocks and trees and everything else. It's not really signed so you need to use the GPS to get out there and you do have to go along a narrow road... More

Once you arrive at the glen, you realize how many other people were looking for it as well as it is quite overrun. It is a beautiful area and the kids had fun racing each other to the tops of the hills and seeing who could sneak up closest to a sheep before scaring it away, but being a mile... More

No official trail, sign, or markings, but a remarkable glen with rock cairns, circles, and hills. A magical place. Use this GPS to find: N 57°35'6" W 6°20'1.68" Park on the side of the road and explore.

Great landscape and Celtic story behind the Fairy Glen. There is a real fairy flag in Dunvagen Castle

Easy to find, if you know how to use maps rather than rely on sat nav. Narrow road leading to it, so take extra care, but overall the outcome is impressive. You can easily spend here few hours just wondering and exploring the area or just a short photo stop/picnic maybe even when you are taking a tour around the... More

Not one of the easiest places to find and to get to as most of the road is one lane with very few lay-bys, so here's some directions that we took after visiting the Quiraing. Driving SOUTH through Uig (towards Portree) on the A87, look for the Uig Hotel on your left hand side, then take an almost immediate left... More

This was one of the most amazing spots on Skye!! And we would never have found it without the explicit instructions provided by the owner of our B&B. (Now here's a tip for Skye Tourism: ahhh, road signage?). However, it was like magic to be driving along, wondering where we were headed, and to arrive in the middle of these... More

This is a magical place to visit. Cunning and intricate and you can almost imagine that you've entered into a faerie kingdom. We went when it was cloudy and sporadically showering, and even then it was wonderful. I think this and the Quiraing were my absolute favourite attractions on the Isle of Skye!

I had heard of the fairy pools and was looking forward to them, but chance meant we came here too during our Trotternish adventure. Trotternish is fab for driving, stopping, walking as there are a range of things to see doing the circular route. So, we turned left at the sign for Balnacknock. THERE ARE NO SIGNS FOR FAIRY GLEN... A hidden gem again thought I would spend half an hour and ended up here for hours. My daughter loved it. Golden eagle spotted here by husband. It is worth exploring rather than just going up the fairy stack.
