Hobbit-like experience. Very quiet there, magical surrounding, and plenty hidden not-that-easy rock climbs :) visiting barefoot is indicated :)

The Faerie Glen is beautiful! It is just down the street from the Uig Hotel, if you take the street before the hotel driveway (looks like you are driving up a small single track hill/ road to someones property, but you're not). Drive all the way to the end and you're there. There is parking on the sides of the... More

This was a walk everyone enjoyed, through grassy knolls and glens. It really looks like a place where you would find some fairies or hobbits or something of the sort... Just be aware that you're sharing this area with quite a few sheep, so you have to watch your step very carefully to not get your shoes dirty! This was... More

At first it didn't seem like there was much to see here but climb and to fine prayer circles behind the tall hill and a small cave where people have left coins/tokens. You can continue to the top of the tallest hill if you aren't bothered by heights and a narrow path. The way in to the Faerie Glen is... More

This is a lovely, magical spot. We had fun climbing the faerie towers and looking for fairies (we didn't see any) and had a picnic bought from Rankins in Uig. There were a few coach loads of tourists with varying levels of interest, some playing loud music as they hung around the bottom, disinterested. The climb up the tower is... More

If your visiting Skye a drive past Portree to Uig and the Faerie Glen is a must.Mind you, be warned, its not easy to find! Its best to stop in Portree at the Visitor Centre to ask for directions first. However just as you enter Uid take the road off to the right just before the Uig Hotel. The glen... More

Not as popular as Quiraing, Old Man of Storr or Nest Point - but for us the highlight of Skye. Being not a large site and quite easy to explore (the only part that may proove tricky is the rocky hill top) in my opinion perfectly suitable for hiking with children. May be a little challenging to pinpoint exact location... More

Beautiful views! There is no markings or signs. Only found this with the help of google maps. Mostly single lane, so difficult with a lot of traffic. Kids had a great time climbing the hill. Very slippery. Unfortunately, one of our adults sprained their ankle.

Great for kids of all ages. Climb the viewpoint and arrive at the top ridge. Very surreal but well worth it. Take care on approach roads as some visitors do not observe passing-place etiquette and park their cars quite stupidly. As it can get slippery and wet, don't wear your best clothes.

A short walk and climb from a parking area is a strange sight. Several conical grass covered hills with an odd texturing come into view. I wouldn't say it's magical, but it's worth seeing for yourself.
